Help HTC M8 Camera Discussion-Show off your pictures!

Indoor photos have been coming out great for me, and I dig the ufocus feature.

I uploaded those through Tapatalk. The quality is lower when viewed from there. Does Tapatalk compress the pictures?

I need to upload those direct.

@ swerver32, Those pics are awesome!! :)

Yes. Yes it does.

And our attachments tool from a browser requires you to compress (max size on a side = 750 pixels) before uploading.

So, a direct link to a photo service, like Flickr, is the only way that won't compress.

Except that most photos exceed most monitors resolution, so people will end up compressing through the browser anyway.

:) :p :)

PS - we're working on a better way, stay tuned. ;)

Excellent.......Excellent! :D

Help talk me down. I currently have an LG G2 (just got in January), Waiting "patiently" for the G3, , Them the M8 hits. I'm like "are front-facing speakers rocket-science"? Anyway - I'l about 99% ready to JUMP (pun intended) on the M8 over the weekend. Yeah - I saw the stickied thread - but - I keep seeing stuff like this - which is keeping me from pulling the trigger:

Samsung Galaxy S5 camera shootout versus HTC One M8, iPhone 5S - CNET

Maybe I'm missing something from this article, but, the results are all over the place,no real consensus winner here,IMHO.....

I'm the last person in the world you'd call a photog, but, the M8 camera seems to be aimed @ a decent-sized demographic & pulls off those photo quite well.

Just my opinion,that's all.....

I have to agree with Kolio on the results. After reviewing the results I couldn't find any concise winner. The recurring theme with the M8 was a background hue of purple to blue and blown out effects.

This can be adjusted with manual settings (which I love on this phone), or a little patience with the AWB/ISO and changing the focus area.

Definitely not a perfect camera, but for consumer Jane/Joe out there I believe it does a mighty fine job.

Here is our thread with consumer Joe/Jane taking pics... Can't say I am disappointed Camera discussion -M8

Hopefully they will make it out to you soon...I have to say this is one of my favorite devices and I have owned a lot of device; both HTC and Samsung.

I believe the reviewer got stuck in a "Look @ the Purple" bootloop. :D

One photo where she called out the M8 for having a purple hue on the pillars had no more of it than the other examples.

Best way is to try it out. If you're not satisfied, take it back for a refund.

You nailed it, I'm "wondering" if the overexposure (which is a common theme is a result of the MegaPixel technology? And -if it is - if HTC will be able to fix it via firmware?

What I can tell you - is - regardless of the results - I have absolutely NO INTEREST in the other 2.,,

The other two don't really look that much better to be honest. I wouldn't pick a phone for a slightly better camera. Personally a metal body and boom sound along with a cleaner UI is something you will see/use on a daily basis.
