HTC Rezound OTA is here

In addition to my other issues, it seems to have erased the memory on my SD card. Music and pictures are gone....

SD card is showing 14gb Total and 14gb Available. Seriously upset right now. What a major hassle.

Called Verizon to see if they could do anything, the rep told me this is normal during a software update. She had no clue.

That stinks Toyota... while not intended this stuff can happen during software upgrades. They should of gave you a better chance to defer the ota till you could back some stuff up. If that had happened to me i would of LOST IT!

Phew. Seems to have gone OK. Took awhile though. It seemed to take an inordinate amount of time to connect to 4G, and the weather widget forced closed when I went to update it. Otherwise, so far so good.

I know. The frustrating part is that because of this site, I am pretty educated when it comes to this stuff. She tried to tell me that this part of the process and whatnot. I got off the phone with her because I knew the conversation would go no-where.

According to speedtests, my speeds have severely gone down also. I have posted many screenshots of me getting 30-40mb consistently... I lost all of my old results, but since the update, I cant get anything above 13mb.

I would warn anyone from doing this update until there can be more user data compiled to see if they are actually slowing the speeds down (possibly to help with LTE traffic?).. That seems to be the case with my update.

I would factory reset one more time to be sure there isn't anything gumming up the works. With the weirdness you experience upon updating I say it wont hurt. If after that it still seems weird then have big red replace it....

edit: merged threads and updated title

I would, but I am on hour 2 of setting my phone back up to the way it was.. I don't want to go through the setup again.

The bad thing is, I had all 7 home-screens set up with apps. Right now, I have 3 full, trying to remember all of the other apps I used.

It didn't give me an option. Is there an easy way to do this? When I logged into my account, it showed my paid apps and I was able to download those, but didn't see any options for the previously installed free apps...

Have you guys gone to Settings>Software Update to prompt the update? I'm going to wait it out as long as possible. When the Thunderbolt updated, a few days later a lot of "My Thunderbolt reboots constantly" threads started emerging.

it is indeed there...though I decided to give it a few days too before installing in case of any errors...Last update I had on my DINC f***ed it up with low memory b.s. lol

if only the update was the sammich ...

My troubles continue.... Now my phone is in 3G at home.. I haven't seen 3G at my house once, I bought my Rezound on launch day. I checked the settings and it is set to LTE/CDMA. This update has completely ruined a phone that I absolutely loved and had zero complaints about. So disappointed.

I'm seeing relatively slower 4g speeds, my average at home is between 18-22 I tested 4 times back to back topped out at 16 :(
Update:

Ok went to watch a DVD with my wife and came back to check how well my phone was charging and what do I find? Not only has my phone downloaded the update but it's installed as well. I don't know how that could happen on it's own and there was no one in the room with my phone while it was charging. I put the phone through it's paces to see if everything was still functioning properly. The good news is all the apps and software seem to be working fine. The bad news...
this is my last speed test before the update:

and this is how the next 4 looked after the update:

Yep. I'm pissed! They've seriously slowed the 4g down!!!! Wtf!

In a short amount of time, we have been able to gather some data that the speeds on the Rezound are slower after the update... I wonder if they are doing this to help with the LTE traffic? For whatever reason, I am not happy about it. Hopefully this is just a fluke.

My speedtest numbers are all over (same as before). The fastest is similarly fast as before, and the slow is also similarly slow as before (the weather here has been cloudy today; not sure if it affects it). The ping time definitely improved quite a bit. After the update it's mostly/typically in the mid-30's and 40's (before was mostly 50's and 60' and occasionally less).

You can also click on My Library and click on APPS and it will bring them all up in alphabetical order and listed as either Purchased, or Installed. It also seems a little easier for me to re-download from there also.

For some reason, my download speeds have always been in the 12-13,000 range and they don't seem to have changed much. Stupid question, but have you double checked your server test site? Mine had changed to another state and I had to change it back.

Mine installed even though I wanted to wait. Kinda frustrating.

Maybe its different for you guys, but I feel like I got fixes for things I didn't know were problems (except maybe 1) and didn't get fixes for the couple things I would have liked such as the LED blinking when there is no notification. Not sure if they can fix the hot battery.

I have 5 bars now. I'm in an area with generally a poor signal. Seems strange.

Oh well, I shouldn't complain. Coming from a Samsung Fascinate, I'm thankful for someone that actually updates their phones.

They just pushed it to you. They always did the same thing with the Thunderbolt. The only way to stop it is to be watching and catch it each time, but that's impossible to do.

I just tried resetting phone, resetting radio, changed power mode to normal and back to high performance, nothing. Now my average is 8mbps. This is bull#@%t. I hope it gets better

I checked the server site. I did need to change it, same slower results. They are about 1/4 to 1/2 the speeds I saw earlier this week.

I have just flashed/updated my second Rezound phone ... same way as before earlier ... Settings - Software update - Check New - Hit me!! Everything went ok/just fine. (The mistress is using the phone now... so far she hasn't complained.)
bye.
