how do you kill the process "com.kyocera.ecomode"?
Is it safe to remove the default ring tones n notifications that came with the phone a couple other apps I was wondering about are gallery, camera, live wallpapers, news & weather, Google search, Google +, and the Google messenger
i rebooted my phone and it says , unfortunantly, settings has stopped
Screw eco boost - you can do all those things yourself. I removed it and everything works fine. More RAM available now. Don't try to remove Google+ it is tied into the Gallery and google services framework. It will break sync and you will have to mess around with things a bit to get them back to nomal.
Also under applications I disabled Email, Exchange Services and Google Search.
Thanks, Wiesshund. Basically, I've already uninstalled the Google apps I didn't want and have seen no negative side effects, so I'm kinda waiting it out before I delete. It's not like I'm hurting for space, and you are correct in that there is not a lot of bloatware on this phone. All is good and thanks again!
i have removed many of the google apps, the only ones i left on was the play store and gmail and phone seems to run fine. removed eco, stock browser, and many of the cricKet bloatware thats comes with this phone. battery life has improved and phone seems to run smoother and faster without any over-clocking needed. i got this phone because they say its waterproof and because of my job my phone gets wet all the time and so far it has not damaged anything. i have a case a and a screen protector as well. Thank you all for sharing the info and ill keep reading this forum because of the help.

I'd like to do the same for faster browsing.
I never intended to activate this phone. It is quite literally a WiFi only device. How can I remove (turn off, freeze) the activation that load every time I start the phone?
Answered on SD:
~To nix hands-free activation nag: (must be rooted, and superuser privileges granted to file manager app [ES File Explorer (1.5 Cupcake) works])
~In /system/app, change extensions of (1) Mms.apk, (2) Phone.apk, and (3) TelephonyProvider.apk to .bak.
how do i get the superuser privileges? i tried downloading the superuser app from the play store, but everytime i opened it, it would give me an error message: "unfortunately, superuser has stopped working". anyone know what's wrong with my device? thanks.
I'm a long time holo fan and paid for it. I moved on to Nova. It's just faster and smoother, or it has been on my galaxy devices and is smooth as can be on my Hydro and my mom's Victory.Yeah I'm a holo launcher fan. I usally switch the launcher to holo as long as it is still stable.
General note/question: Will there ever be a working recovery for this phone? I think everyone and their brother has enough of these phones now we could donate one to every developer on XDA and still have many to spare. Heck, I have three and would gladly donate one to get a working recovery and tweaked ROM. I've frozen what I can, added Xposed, Notification Toggles and Nova. I think I'm maxed out. The only thing I couldn't do was get my 64gb card to read. I tried exFat and formatting in fat 32. No luck. Dropped down to a 32gb which worked fine.
I have removed with out any problems, Google music, movies, music and plus. Mobile ID, boost zone, talk, hmmmm... and a couple more. No issues. Seems to run a lot better and a better battery life. Just FYI..
