I HATE hotmail!!!

[Xeneize480]

dumb email server sucks more and more!!

I hate that I could not get the same email address on gmail...

meaning

blabla@hotmail.com = blabla@gmail.com

and hotmail sucks on android phones

1. Forward all of your email from Hotmail to a Gmail account
2. Set your Gmail account to reply from the Hotmail address
3. Use Gmail on your Android phone
4. ???
5. Profit!

I've been using Outlawbiker1971@aol.com since Al Gore invented the internet. When I got my Droid 1 (which I owned for exactly 3 days before returning it and ordering the Droid X which launched that day) I set it up as Outlawbiker1971@gmail.com just because it was easy to remember that way. Well now that I've done that I've completely switched over to using Gmail for everything.

Maybe some people are more picky than I, but I think gmail works just as well as anything to tell you the truth. Plus since it's linked directly to my phone, what could be more convenient? Anyhow, sorry to hear that your email was taken already on the gmail server, why do you say it sucks on the X anyway? What does it do differently on the X than it does on your computer?

I don't have any issues with my Hotmail account on my phone. I just simply set it up when I first activated it and get all my email pushed at a timely rate.

Still using msn account here (even older than Hotmail) lol. I use K9 instead of the stock email app though.

yea if you have an email account that wont work for whatever reason with the stock email app, download K9

This is a really good solution. I hope the OP considers it.

I have no problem with Hotmail on my phone using the HTC native email app. That said, I hate the hotmail web interface, and I only use that account when signing up online for "expected SPAM". I never use it for any actual important or personal email.

1. in gmail, add forwarding from your hotmail account.
2. add a rule to your gmail account, forward all emails sent to @hotmail to a hotmail label.
3. add a new "send from" account to gmail, put in your hotmail details.
4. on your phone, create a shortcut to your hotmail label.

So, now you have your hotmail pretending to be a gmail, you can even reply to emails from your hotmail account using gmail!

Great eh?

Ok, I wrote up a guide, hopefully this helps http://droid-den.com/android-guides/how-to-manage-alternative-emails-with-android-and-gmail
