Root I need a solution

ok so heres my problem.As someof you know im a metro user. and i have been having trouble getting 3g. well As i suspected the f'd up store i had add my esn to metro used a dummy esn. And mya guess is whatever the phone they used is not capable of 3g speeds. Ive been getting so fustrated knowing there is 3g everywhere by me and i cant get it. So i just went to checkesn free entered my meid hex the results returned like normal giving me my meid dec and below it said your esn is clean for activation. so i did the esn converter and the results that came back for my esn hex are different from the one that my phone shows in qpst. So on to my question if i do a factory data reset will the meid's go back to what they are suppsed to be??? or do i need to do that and fflash back to stock re root and get my esn added the right way?? No worried about losing my flash ill pay to get it added again so i can have 3g.please help lol I WANT 3G!!!! : ) TIA

PS im wondering if i threaten to turn the store that did it in to the autorities if they will add it the right way for free? lol

factory reset just wipes data really. it really does not affect that kind of stuff. and i believe that it is the same with flashing roms and such. i really do not know too much about flashing phones to metro.

Im also thinking about changing pri nv and radio. the last time i downgraded radios to see if that would help it ended up reseting the spc code from all zeros to proabably what it was stock. Or if i hard reset flash back to stock? I basically want to get the phones id's to reset. then worry about flashing. its pretty sad im trying to do everything i can to lose my metroflash. lol. I cant figure out why that store would do that instead of just checking the esn. Cause i knew it was clean from the start. Hopefully someone sees this that knows how i reset those. I'm assuming so forgive me if I'm wrong. My guess is that because it's an evo and that the "Evo" brand is under the Sprint network that the ESN is Registered to Sprint. So activating it with that ESN would mean you have to have a sprint account to successfully activate. However since its another network they just used a "workaround" to get you setup for their service. I'm not sure if what the company has done in your case is illegal but its certainly immoral. Since HTC and Sprint have worked out an arrangement for the "EVO" I am thinking that the only people the store that changed it would have to fear is Sprint. But again speculation and assumptions.

Yea ive been doing some research on houdini and metro flash. In some cases they stated things about a dummy esn. But in these cases you would have to use a phone with the capabilities of the phone your flashing. So even if there was no way around them changing the id's and what they did was legal. they still must not have done it correct and used id's from a phone thats not capable of 3g. This whole situation has been crazy for me. I have tried every combination of every data settings for metro pcs that you can find anywhere on the web and still nothing. So there has to be something in metros system regarding said id's that wont allow it to connect to evdo. If everyone that had an evo on metro was having the same problem and not able to connect to evdo towers this wouldnt be an issue to me. But knowing that there is evdo where im at and that other evos have it is killing me.
