Root I really need help figuring this out.. USB Problems

May I ask the op can u choose another ROM . I think liquid maybe the problem . I am just getting back on reading to see what I can help out with

Yes, there was an issue with JB ROMs and newer with the 3.4 kernel. You have to update firmware before flashing those ROMs (hence the bootloops you were getting after flashing). [Firmware Update] For AOSP ROMS-3.4 KERNEL-NEW OFFICIAL CM NIGHTLIES [27June] - xda-developers

So basically, if we can help you get an older ROM (before that kernel) and get you running you can then do the proper steps and be fine flashing the newer stuff.

that sounds like a good plan thank you very much..

was ice cream sandwich, I have tried many roms but nothing is working it just fails when i try to install. Even the stock one, I even tried a nandroid backup and that didn't work. I have tried everything I can think of regarding the USB drivers, there the lastest ones installed that came with htc sync manager.

So you have a nandroid on the device already? And flashing it doesn't work? What sort of error does it give you when restoring it in TWRP?

Did you download s-on customrom

after I used the all in one tool kit, the rom that I thought was compatible is

KitKat (Android 4.4.2+ HTC Sense 5.5)
Download Android Revolution HD 53.0

it installed than boot-looped, I started using the wipe button after I got into TWRP recovery, I guess I deleted something I shouldn't so I found the liquid rom and tried to install that and got e: mount e:/sdcard/ error so I than i mounted usb storage. I than got different roms on there and all them failed, so I did a backup, just so I could get those backup directory's to show in twrp and found a stock nandroid backup and copied all the files to the usb storage drive. It successfully installed and I thought it was fixed but it just stalls at the HTC sceen and gives a warning in red about getting permission to use this developer only copy.

How long did you wait when it would stall at the htc screen with the red letters?

When you try that what command are you entering exactly? Is it this?

Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img

Also, from the sound of it, you are not bricked. If all else fails you should be able to run a RUU.

One thing I did forget to mention is when I reboot from TWRP hit the system button I get this install button that pops up asking me to install superuser cause it appears this phone is not rooted.

Whichever rom you flash, put the rom zip filed also on your pc.

Extract the boot.img from the zip file and put it in the same folder/directory as fastboot.exe.

Reboot the phone into the bootloader and select fastboot. Plug the phone into the pc and it should read FASTBOOT USB in red letters.

Use the fastboot command: fastboot flash boot boot.img

Rom should boot after flashing the boot.img.

Alternatively, if you keep a recovery.img in your fastboot directory you can put a rom zip on your phone and then use fastboot command: fastboot boot recovery.img

That will boot you into recovery, and you can flash the rom normally. When you boot the recovery via fastboot, it will flash the boot.img with the rom. This method is easier as it saves some steps and prevents you from having to pull the boot.img each time.

You need the pc either way but booting the recovery is the simplest method.

If you can, get s-off!

I cant run RUU cause there is no detection of my USB. The USB shows up for about 20 to 30 seconds.

yes.. and it will say waiting for device because the USB is not detecting, it only detects the portable drive when it mounted from TWRP.

Did you install the drivers from here HTC Support - HTC Sync | HTC Additional Support

Install HTC Sync
  1. Download the file from the link above. It's under the header "HTC Sync for all HTC Android phones"
  2. Run the setup_3.3.63.exe file that you downloaded.
  3. Select the language.
  4. Select "Next >".
  5. A window will pop up explaining that you need to disable the anti-virus software on your computer. Do so and select "OK".
  6. Accept the license agreement, and select "Next >".
  7. Select Complete and then "Next >".
  8. Select "Install".
  9. Select "Finish". HTC Sync is now installed.

We already went through this hours ago.

The fastboot devices command is not working.

Forget doing a fastboot boot flash until it is.

Again.. there is no connection in fastboot usb bootloader mode, the computer doesn't see it this is the whole problem Im having is the USB.

I tired what you suggested there, when you click on the link to HTC, it allows you only to install the HTC sync manager with the 4.0 drivers, they do not have the drivers separate.

You can still run a bootloader version of the RUU. Run the RUU.exe on your pc then hit the start menu and search for: %temp%

When in the temp folder find a folder called rom.zip

I don't know the model number for your phone but you need to rename the zip file. For example on Evo 3d you rename it to PG86IMG.zip

It will be similar with this device (hopefully someone can give us the proper name) . :)

On Evo 3d this file goes on the root of the SD card (not sure exactly where to put it on this device).

Anyway, once it's named correctly and placed in the right location, you reboot into the bootloader and it will prompt you from there.
