I hear a lot of cat-scratching, but I will tell you this. As a huge Android fan-boy, Fragmented or not, it's creating an opportunity for everyone to become somewhat tech savvy. In turn, isn't that helping our development nation? I mean, hell, let's look at Motorola /w Motoblur phones. Do you think their customers are happy at their delay in releasing updates to it's "core" phones? I don't think so. If you wanted a phone to have the latest, most current updates... buy a phone without an over laid UI. Vanilla, TouchWiz, MotoBlue....etc. Go buy a Nexus 1, Nexus S, G2. Those phones will alway's be updated quick-like.
If that option, being somewhat one sided, doesn't suit you. Learn how to install a ROM. If your on a forum board, you are smart enough to install a basic ROM.
Nero V4.1 from TeamWhiskey was just released this week. It's 2.2 and based on the Gingerbread back-end. Hell, they even made a TouchWhiz3.0 version for you cat-scratchers.
