Yeah title says it all. I wasn't even thinking about it and I installed the update seeing if it would help a couple games from crashing. Well now I'm stuck because I lost root and towel root says device is unsupported. Can I reload the stock lg image in download mode?

I did a factory reset and that didn't help either.

Okay when I get to a computer I will. Does it change anything with the activation of the phone?

I haven't activated this phone yet waiting for my current virgin mobile plan to run out first lol.

It's not activated? How did you even get an update? You should probably hold off on flashing anything until you activate.

I'm thinking that those of us that have flashed lg stock ROMs aren't getting updates since we're not running a Boost or VM ROM.

Idk what it did exactly. Here's my phone information though.

I have the no carrier version and i am one version behind, i don't want to lose root so i may wait on the upgrade...

My version is v3. Is there a way to download the update without installing it, anyone know?
And 200mb is actually small. The system itself total is about 1gb.

I'm downloading the apk right now it's worth a shot I feel crazy without root since I already had it... And I really don't want to flash the non carrier IMG either.

I wasn't thinking about what I was doing. But yeah stump root said my device isn't supported. Looks like I'll need to do the download mode thing to get root back.

Im curious if anybody who has updated to v4 could send me a copy of the aboot? Id like to make sure they didnt change it.

We could only do that if one, they could root, or two, they were let to install the update without having their download mode partition installed. Which, if I tried, what's the worst you think could happen?

Ahh there was a post on xda that made it seem like the person updated and still had root.

Those who have updated to v4, are you on virgin or boost? Im on virgin and just checked and no update available yet to me.
