I wonder if Sam's Club ...

Someone posted earlier that Wal-Mart has a price matching deal, and then someone else mentioned Sam's, and then someone else said that since the two are under the same umbrella is goes by logic that Sam's should too....

I think that those posts were merged into the (now) huge CostCo thread

BTW, I'm loving watching this forum explode just like the original DROID forum did just before launch....

What!?!? You haven't been here since the original... *looks to your username*... well aren't you an oldie. lol

I was actually here when the original Droid was released but never joined until all the Droid Incredible commotion that brought a ton of new users, along with the EVO 4G.

I'm not too sure if Sam's Club would have the same deal going on since it's not just a price match kind of thing. They would have to include all the accessories as well. I don't really know how phones work at Sam's Club, so I'm not very sure.
 
Currently, I'm not a member at either Sam's or Costco, so I thought I'd ask. The reason for the thread is that Sam's is a little more convenient for me and I would probably use the membership more throughout the year than I will a CostCo's Club membership. But whatever. I'll get it sorted out BEFORE Thursday. :)

@johnlgalt, I hear ya man. This place hasn't been THIS exciting (to me) since back when we started rooting the OG DROID. Good times! :cool:

I joined about 8 days before drop day, but I lurked for about 2 weeks before that.

Well, this forum anyway. I never venture into the other phone forums, so....

I'm going to break down and get the CostCo membership and drive up there Thursday morning right after my Chiropractor's appt. I'm hoping they won't sell out in an hour or so, I'll probably be arriving at 11 AM....

Sam's club is a lot closer to me, but I don't want to take the chance that they will or will not honor the deal, and / or not have the accessories in, and / or not even have the phone in....

You are better off with a Costco membership anyway, they carry higher quality products and have much friendlier employees (at least in my experience).
 
As far as I know there's only on Costco in the Houston area, I'm a member but it's quite a drive. SAMs is just around the corner. :(

And it's interesting that you can tell approximately why/ when everyone joined from the date! Lol. I'm another who joined for the OGD. Still going (sorta) strong.

So is my OG Droid (running the latest CM7 nightly w/ a 1GHz kernel). My wife's really looking forward to getting it once I get the Bionic. She won't have 3G, but she can use WiFi ... so it'll be smarter than her current dumb phone.

I like them better than Sams just for the cakes...lol. But there are more Sams in my area than Costco's.

That's because Sam's is Walmart, and you can ask their employees their view of the company. Costco pays their employees well, has great benefits, and paid leave. While I don't work for Costco, I do enjoy coming to work. Not only because of our crew, but the Costco guys are great to interact with and helpful.

Just one small example that I appreciated: Costco is closed today for Labor Day. They put out lil signs saying "We'll be closed for Labor Day so that our employees can have a day off to spend with their families." Just a small gesture, but it goes a long way in how you feel about a company.
 
hey guys if you dont know by now, Staples carries cellphones and one of the carriers is Verizon Wireless.....they will have the bionic at 299.99 but they do PRICE MATCH ANY STORE......THAT INCLUDES COSTCO AND SAMS CLUB.....they will be carrying the Bionic tomorrow!

BTW, Staples is also Wireless Advocates. :cool: While both there guys and myself work for the same company, the policies and inventory belong to the partner who houses us, so there are differences.
