Help I7500 xejc4

I'm having some problems with battery level. For accurate level I'm using spare part battery information.

Yesterday I went to sleep and it was showing 45% of battery, when I woke up it was showing 61%
Then I recharged it to 75% and want to work, (edge off, all aps off) for about an hour of sleep and it was showing 51%?

I've got this phone for about two weeks and battery last the longest on this new firmware, but it is acting strange.

Any ideas?

what it's reading is the battery's voltage, so if the phone is drawing a lot of power the indicated battery level is more than if the phone is idle

changes in temperature can also affect indicated battery levels

Suggestions for better app for reading accurate battery level then spare parts, but app that doesen't drain extra power like battery widget?

i use batterylife, it's a widget, but doesn't have the reported draining effect of battery widget

Just went back to JB2 apps show up in market.... Must of been a bug since I waited two days and some of my paid apps were missing....

Not a bug. Google (or Samsung or whoever) is always a bit lazy when it comes to approving new firmwares to get aces to the market. It will happen for sure, just it needs some time.

tell me, is there anyway to update to this firmware from the galaxo??

you mean without loosing apps and settings? i don't think it's possible, but you can try to odin only pda and see what will happen.

Since its rare I ever need and "accurate" reading, more of a just will is last the rest of the evening...? I don t use a battery app, however dont forget there is the inbuilt debug screen that give you a host of data, including battery percentage

From the dialer, just dial *#*#4636#*#* (note 4636 == INFO)

I think I have tried every firmware available except gaosp. If this one unlocks any faster, I didn't notice. The phone continues to be sluggish and crappy. If you are expecting a drastic improvement, you will be disappointed.

To share my experiences so far:

JB2 gave me the no-sleep bug, so I flashed back to IL3 where I again saw the no-sleep bug whereas I hadn't before. I've now flashed JC4 and no sign of the no-sleep bug, overall everything is much more responsive.

However - this time around it flashed very smoothly using Odin, while flashing jb2 and back to IL3 both seemed to hang for a while.

I think we may be seeing an issue with some firmware flashing not working 100% in Odin?? Anybody else experience this or anybody with the no-sleep bug want to reflash and see if it fixes their issues?

For me JC4 is a keeper :D

I use Battery Alarm by YellowDogApps on my Nexus & GFs Galaxy. Works well and doesnt drain.

This is maybe right! All of previous firmwares (1.5) was flashed with Odin 3.95, and now after someone post (don't remember who was and why - sorry) that "Donut" must be flashed with at least Odin 3.98 - I'm using only 3.98 version.

Bug in Odin?

Can anyone confirm the differencies between two versions of Odin?

Not quite what I meant - I've flashed each time with 3.95 (I think, I'm not at home at the mo). What I mean is that although odin reports 100% success, maybe it isn't actually overwriting everything, as it seems to take different amounts of time to actually flash firmwares. But yes, could well be a bug in odin.

finally decided to take the plunge and now flashed my phone with the JC4 firmware. Till now have only been using Galaxo Hero rom.

My first impressions so far are as follows :

1) there seems to be bug in the SD notification. Even though i uncheck "SD Card Notification" in the "Sound and Display" settings, the notification plays when i plug/unplug the device to a usb drive.
2) Seems that the UI is not as responsive as the Galaxohero. I experince jitters while swiping through screens and on opening the app drawer.
3) When downloading more than 2 apps via the "Market App", the phone slows down drastically.
4) The volume level of the headphones is quiet low compared to the galaxohero, however i did feel that the bass level has been slightly increased.

Its still is too early to comment on the battery life.
ll post more after playing around more with the phone.

spoke too soon !!

The volume level is very low compared to the other firmwares i used. I could hardly listen to the songs being played over the sound of traffic

In my earlier post I complained about the low volume in this firmware. But I tested this only using the stock Samsung headphone. Today, I used the Sony headphones that I normally use with my phone and I found that though the volume is lower than IK5 it definitely is louder than JB2.
Also I can confirm the previous post, the bass has been enhanced significantly. This firmware offers the best sound I have heard from the Galaxy(decent set of headphones are a must for this)

Hey, does anyone know if xejc4 support adb remount? I keep getting permission denied... I'm trying to install busybox without installing galax0
you have to root the device with 4.6 recovery and run ADB remount while in recovery and not the live os

Oh !! Then i should try this with my philips headset. I have been using the stock headphones till now !!

To chime in,

I've noticed the battery move from 54% to 66% at times. I'm beginning to wonder if Samsung knew of this and 'tweaked' the default battery indicator to this effect ?

Continuing with my updates about the tests i performed on JC4 :

The battery now lasts a lot longer than the various firmwares i have used.
My usage includes 3hrs of Wifi, 3hrs+ of music, 10 calls < 3min(each), a few smses.
with my above usage, i could get about 35 hrs approx. of the battery bfore it required a recharge.

I too noticed this kind off behaviour with JC4 firmware.

btw, anyone have any idea of what bug has been fixed in JC5 ?

According to Samsung Firmware twitter account there's a new firmware: I7500XEJC5.

Twitter / SamsungFirmwares: I7500XEJC5 out. (android 1 ...

"I7500XEJC5 out. (android 1.6)(only a small bug fix.)"

Seems odd to me that there is a new version so soon after the previous one. Is it perhaps the same one for a different region or something?

Anyone tried it?

When a manufacturer is releasing firmware updates faster and faster, they are bugfixing, and a release is imminent.
