Iconia A500 Update To Honeycomb 3.1?

I'm thinking we are going to see an update to Honeycomb 3.1 for the A500 in the very near future. There are, of course, no hardware limitations preventing the upgrade, and I am of the opinion Acer would never let their very competitive A500 get left in the dust as other tablets like the Xoom receive the 3.1 update.

Just my opinion, I would love to hear your thoughts on this.

I think the A500 is selling well and Acer will not impede sales by lagging with updates. Just look at the performance and features, out of box- not exactly a device made by a slacker. Even the packaging shows high focus..... Well, there IS the sucky powersupply......

I expect 3.1 to be out within a few months, but hope our rooting app can be modded to work with it.

Acer is supposed to release an update in June to increase the resolution sent out HDMI to 1080p, and I would hope this will come with the 3.1 update. I'm anxious to see what Google and Acer have up their sleeves!

Would be good to know when Acer plans to roll out the upgrade to Android 3.1 release which has been out now for a month or so. But we're all kept in the dark. It'll help their business to have an SLA promise of x many weeks upgrade time after an official release by Google. My Tab currently have issues such as reading USB storage devices like cameras, etc which are supposedly fixed by the Android release, but need to wait until Acer gets its act together....very frustrating

I hope we get it soon as I'm running custom roms of 3.1 and it works better than ever now but I would pre are to be on original roms so hurry up Acer

Acer announced via facebook at my country (Malaysia) that 3.1 update will be available on the 1st week of July
I hope they're not lying

Mmmm, looks like the caveat here is that "your mileage might vary" and the deal is that lots of people are having problems.

No thanks, I think I will wait.

Pete

Actually the power supply design is brilliant, it is the short lead that is about the most stupid design decision ever made. ;-)

Luckily for me the 3.01 release fixed all my problems.

At 9:30am Central time this morning, I received an update notification. I'm now running on Honeycomb 3.1!!
Woohoo! Test driving now!

Checked for the update at about 7:20 PM EDT, still nothing here for me in VA. Hopefully tomorrow, fingers crossed.

Glad the update is hitting the A500. :D

Does not look like anyone in Australia has it yet, well I haven't and I am the most important person I know.... ;-D
