Root ICS/CM9-JB/CM10 Development Thread

Well, damn.

You'll never guess what happened. Data won't turn on again XD Leaving it on for a while, maybe it just takes a bit of time to turn its self on.

Not sure if this will help at all, but i took the libcamera.so and libcapture.so from alpha 5 cm9 and got an error saying"Cannot connect to camera" it's better than seeing a blank black screen, and im just touching on some stuff, everyone has to learn somewhere right? :)

Hi Everyone
I am still in aww with the progress with this ROM, but my thing that I have a issue with after running AKOP Test 5, Have not tried CM10 Test 5 Yet.
I noticed that I use this phone as my VOIP Driver, and im having trouble with GrooveIP on AKOP I get reports the I can not be herd at all and it sounds super choppy when I hear others, but at least I can hear then thru the speaker (Internal). This issue is weird I dont know how to fix it. In CM9 the app worked better but for some reason it only plays thru the external speaker making the ECHO terrible. It would work fine if I could get the speaker issue to work on CM9. Any suggestions?

I havent't downloaded youtube onto my Marquee yet. I went on the browser and youtube was pretty fluid. No problems, no hiccups.

The only hiccup i receive is after turning off WiFi the Data sometimes doesn't kick back on until reboot. (Call me crazy, but it kind of seems like the wifi is disconnecting partially and causing the data to think the Wifi is still running).

Also, is tdm making a Kernel??? O.O Didn't know if i misunderstood anything.

The trick with the wifi is after turning it off make a phone call let it ring twice than end it. Once done data should be back. I know its tedious but its better than having to do a reboot.

My CM10 report:
I've been running The ROM the whole weekend, only 2 reboots, BT doesn't want to turn on, a little laggy some times after unlock it but is pretty stable, by far the best one I've ever run in my marquee.

Compare with CTMod the only differences are the camera and the mass storage.
Battery life its pretty amazing, I'm gonna use it as my daily ROM :)
What we were waiting for is about to come! Congrats tdm you rock! keep doing what you do! :D

I havent tried the CM10, I'm loving AOKP. You should try it! I made my clock settings at 120ghz to 1.1 and theres absolutely no lag. I'm loving every second of it! The devs are absolutely amazing. Can't wait to help out when i know a bit more (:

I've already test it, CM10 it's a little stable to my.

I have been watching this thread for a while and flashing these wonderful ROMs. But just wondering when the camera fixes are expected, which is the only thing that is keeping me from flashing the cm9/cm10/aokp builds. and if anyone could give me a list of what isn't working for the JB ROMs.

It may be a while on the cameras, I am pretty sure it will require extensive kernel surgery.

Lordvincent dont you think that's overkill. He is a noob. This is not xda no need to be foolish, just don't respond when they ask.

I wasn't trying to be mean... I was actually trying to be informative... (and silly) people will never learn if nobody says anything... but point taken :o

Also... I didn't realize it was his/her VERY FIRST post...

One of the flaws of tapatalk... doesn't display user info like the web page does. *embarrassed*

I guess I HAVE been spending too much time over at xda... they are starting to corrupt me :(

Im an active user of xda as well, but I like the classiness of android forums and I conduct my posts that way on xda. People are so rude over there. Anyways when someone new comes we gotta help them fit in learn the ropes...than if they pull the eta questions that's when we lay into them.

I haven't been able to get my 3g to turn back on after using a wifi connection. I tried rebooting, and the phone call suggestion someone had made a bit earlier. Not sure exactly what happened that is keeping it from connecting. I thought it might have been adding the apns to try to fix MMS, but I still have the same issue after removing those and rebooting. Any suggestions?

Edit: Of course right after I post this after rebooting one more time it decides to work. Maybe it was the APNs after all.

Do far so good on the AOKP. besides the camera not working (not asking for eta) my only issue is a bit of lagginess which I attribute to either a program I need to use or a potential memory leak. I say memory leak because I use the same programs and I have the same settings for what apps run at boot up but memory usage seems greater. the lag goes away when I use a memory optimizer like all-in-one toolbox. Other then that its all good.

Any suggestions for IO and govenor?

I/O=noop, Gov=SmartassV2
These settings work best for me on any from with the Marquee.

Anyone link me to a working gapps ,my playstore wont work

Here's a list of the GAPPS.
Goo.im Downloads - Browsing gapps

Scroll down to the ones that say "jb" and click on "gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip".

Those are the GAPPS I'm using and they work fine. Pretty sure that Tdm said he was using the same ones too.
I tried the newer update that came out but several things stopped working. I reverted back to the one I posted and everything works fine.
