Root ICS coming to the DX

CVPCS likes to get the ball rolling and then hand off the project to someone else to follow through to completion. I'm not complaining, just an observation. The Droid X will continue its triumphant march.

I think a lot of time he just gets busy with his life outside of Android. He finished the 2nd init method to completion though and that's the biggest breakthrough in the DX development.

I'm hoping it doesn't take to long though because I'm looking at not being to upgrade to the GN until late winter/ early spring. So this would be a nice stop gap.

The DX becomes a better and better investment from when we each first purchased it! Since I don't really game on my phone, there's little need for a new phone until 4G phones have fully ironed out!

Glad the DX will get ICS since it will never be updated by Motorola since it's to old now, if I can get ICS I may wait on the Nexus..... but a NEXUS device on Verizon? very tempting.

for a motorola nexus device, samsung and htc will cry foul and say its favortism, but yet, sammy is going on 2 years in a row

Love, love LOVE this news. I knew it wasn't time to upgrade yet. I still can't get over how far ahead of it's time the DX was when it was first released almost a year and a half ago...heck, a lot of devices are just coming out with their 8mp cameras...LOL. When I upgrade next spring, I want it to be a leap up, not just a step. Quad-core will be all the rage by then and that's what'll be great. But it will be hard to choose a device that's been as well supported as the DX. Still love it.

That's why I'm going with the Galaxy Nexus. This might end up being the most supported Android device to date.

I just flashed the MIUI ICS tonight. All I know is homescreen scrolling is much smoother than it was on GB framework. The difference is tangible. Still, there's some bugs, so it might be worth it to wait until the new apps are there. Battery life seems on par with CM7 etc.

Also I guess my sig needs to be updated.

All new Android devices start out being the most supported. Where it counts is how much support that device gets 6 months down the road...;)

So far MIUI only has the ICS framework, but apps (like mail, browser, etc) should soon follow.

Bingo ~ I dig it
