Root ICS coming to the DX

I'm liking this ROM personally, hopefully there's an update soon to fix a couple of the issues with the quick launch thing that ICS offers. As of now they just FC when you try to open them but it's not like you can't just go to the actual app and open it from there. Anyway, I'm loving how fast my DX is now with this ROM!

Bingo ~ I dig it

Hmmm, mine doesn't say Android 4.0.1, how'd you go about that? As well as the 5G LTE thing, how'd you get all that to change?

Hmmm mine says 4.0.1
Only problem im having now is that when i updated the market it dissappeared from the folder i set it in. i can hit search and find it on phone but the shortcut is no where to be found. And no flash :(

Ok, I think I figured it out. Im running the ICX ROM from the link in the ROMs thread here instead of the link on the first page of this thread. I just went for it not realizing they're different ROMs. Am I correct in assuming that they are different ROMs? If so then ill flash the one in this thread first thing tomorrow.

LOL, I almost feel stupid now! Thanks for clearing that up! lol. I was digging this ROM and thinking its ICS in some way. At least I have something to look forward to in the AM. Thanks man, glad its cleared up now. Hopefully somebody learns from my ASSumption. lol

I had to sbf before I could get this ROM to work.

Tons of force closes. My Android version was 2.3.5 not 4.0.

did sbf And fresh install and everything is working great

If DXC doesnt release his release I will have one coming for GB this weekend.

DXC is putting out a final build. If his doesn't come I will release a GB build based off 10.21 with MIUI updates. Also ICS will be getting its own updates as well

List of changes to be implemented next build (Now waiting for DXC's next build since it will pwn as a hardware base, 1% and 720p being added)

1% battery
Possibly hdmi (if DXC figures that out)
720P
Updated ICS and MIUI and hardware base
PB script added
Unthrottle script added
Probably adding supercharger as well

According to dxc charging with phone off will be in the next update.

And what does this do? I'm downloading the correct rom this time so I'll be flashing it in a little while.

It's supposed to increase battery life and will be included in the next build (hopefully this weekend).

I wiped cache/Dalvik cache and installed it and fixed permissions, then my screen was unresponsive when I booted. After a battery pull, my touch screen worked again. We'll see if battery is better with this.

I've never done mods like this to a ROM or whatnot so is this a zip file I just put on the root of my sd card and load from recovery as an update or what?

Yes, make a backup from recovery, then apply update from sdcard, choose update from sdcard, browse for your file and do it to it.

I'm loving this ROM, it's smooth as all get out!!! I'm trying to boot into recovery using the D2Bootstrap but it's just booting normally. Oh well, I'm not gonna bother with the deep sleep mod until I notice a battery issue.

Just reboot your phone and press the volume-down key when the blue led flashes. :D

Rebooted about 4 times now and haven't seen any blue led flash at all. AND, when my phone reboots it's going back to an MIUI 11.9 that I flashed a few days ago. Everytime I change rom's I SBF back to .602 and wipe everything so I don't know why it's doing that so I'm SBFing again now and after I wipe data/cache and load the ROM and then load the deep sleep file and then reboot. Doing it that way should be ok right? I mean as far as loading the two files before I reboot.

The ICS MIUI build IS .9 :D

Settings... about phone should say Android 4.01.

You can also open a terminal app and type:

su (press enter)
cat.jpg (press enter)

Then you can open rom manager and boot into recovery. The recovery issue should be fixed in the next build. It was fixed in .28, but that update was flaky.

Hmmm, that's weird because it looks nothing like the ICS ROM that had flashed before. I wonder if something happens when trying to boot into recovery that sends it back to stock MIUI .9. I don't know, I'm flashing the ICS ROM again as I type this so hopefully everything works out this time. I'm just gonna play it safe and enjoy the ROM for a while. lol
Thanks for all your help man. I'm gonna load up this deep sleep fix with the way you put here and if it doesn't work then I'm done and gonna load up just the ICS ROM and learn to be happy. lol Thanks again, gotta love the DX forum!!!

Directions worked great man. Thanks for all your help on this. I have one last question though. I'm getting a prompt for an update to MIUI, is it safe to update it without an issue or should I avoid the update?

JUST SAY NO. :D

That's a bug since the ICS version and the other versions came from the same source. It'll be fixed in the next build. You don't want to update your ICS version with the GB version.

That's kind of what I thought so I've been avoiding it like the plague! lol I've got it all up and running with about 3 different backups and I'm once I get all my apps installed and going, I'm gonna use Ti Backup and do one last complete ROM back up once I see it's all running smooth. I had the data issue for a few but cleared that up with a reboot and it's smooth as butta now! Thanks for your help man, I needed it! lol:D

Nice to see someone who's good about backing up his stuff. :D

Yessir, I HATE starting all over after having everything the way I want and having all the apps I want. I normally keep most of my .apk's in my email as well juuuuuust in case. :D Besides, I was a network tech for a while some time ago and I know what will happen without a backup. Rewriting batch files or completely rewriting a router's tables SUCKS! lol
