That sounds about right but since they are guessing that it will be out this year I'll put my bet on one year from now.

I'm VERY happy to see this phone get ICS. Being one of VZW's last good 3G phones, it is an amazingly solid device, and has consistently not let me down. I'm glad to see VZW and HTC haven't abandoned it and focused solely on LTE phones.

The phone is fine but the current software is buggy. Very buggy.

I found that software # 4.08.605.3 was very buggy.
Now that I updated to software # 5.10.605.9, I find that it is very stable and not buggy whatsoever.

The next Nexus phone will probably out running jelly bean 5.0 by the time we taste any ice cream.

Agreed, it's a really solid phone. Mine is not buggy at all, works pretty snappy and smooth.

Now that I updated to software # 5.10.605.9, I find that it is very stable and not buggy whatsoever.

I must just have a dud ... I've even gotten calls from HTC developers who are trying to fix the issues for me.

Im getting my phone some time today. Considering this new news, should i hold off on root?

or is it easy enough to unroot and accept an update when it finally drops, if i wanted to?

The rumors have ICS coming sometime this year so I'm betting early next year. If you root you can run ICS today.

ICS today, but not fully functional.
If you wait until the update rolls out you may not be able to root at all.
Once ICS is officially out for us there will be tons of ICS roms available.
I would root now.

Absolutely no problems after recent update, plus the alarm clock works now too... Yay!!!

ICS better come fast and it better fix the problems I have or I'm off HTC for a few years. I'm due for a new phone but really want to wait for the next round of hardware.
