Root ICS is here!

I think the stock browser in ICS is actually better than nearly all the other browsers I have tried. It is really fast and has the smoothest page scrolling I have seen on a browser app.

If anyone is trying Virtuous Quattro, I would recommend keeping the default kernel, for some reason the LC kernel doesn't seem to work very well (at least for me, my phone was really laggy and had a few freezes and random reboots)

The camera works fine.. Dolphin hd a bit slow loading pages etc haven't tried stock browser yet

The camera seems to be hit and miss. I'd say at least 3/4 of my pictures are corrupted, but then others work perfectly.

I just mean the glitch you get when taking a picture, i think it works fine if you download the LG camera app from the market but still.

The stock browser is very good on the Galaxy Nexus, best browser out of all of them i'd say. The MIUI stock browser is the worst so for the time being i'm using Dolphin which i don't really like. I just want a plain old browser, not one that i can get addons for and themes and all sorts of rubbish that i don't need on a phone. Anyway i'm hoping the browser will work just as well on this phone as it is very good.

Still going to wait for a fully working build though, in regards to the basic stuff anyway. For example i know ICS on the Nexus has no FM radio but there is the hardware for it in the phone (i think). There definitely is in this phone but i don't consider that to be an important feature so i don't need to wait for something like that before i flash the ROM.

Give Boat Browser Mini a shot, pretty minimalistic with no bells and whistles. Seems faster than Dolphin too.

Ever time i see a new post in this thread i think "right thats it they must have evrything working":(:D

I just put 4.0.3 Virtuous Quattro RC3 on my phone. Love it. The built in launcher is good too, allowing me to resize widgets. The only addon i would like is the ability to change the grid size of the homescreens.

I think it's quite good for those looking for a vanilla experience like me because the things they have changed have been subtle. A tiny toggles menu in the notification bar for example, not one for every toggle, just 4 so it still fits in with the screen and look of everything. Haven't tried BT or the camera yet because i barely use them anyway.

Stock browser is fantastic. Glad its as fast as it is on the Nexus.

I also flashed Virtuous Quattro RC3 (4.0.3).

Looks really good, same as RED_ I think the resizing is cool although it would be good to be able to change the grid size, I also like the quick settings in the notification bar, browser is excellent. Although the camera is in my opinion quite bad because it's too standard, you get panorama mode, video and normal camera no settings no menu options no touch to focus.

I also noticed the standby battery life is a lot better compared to the 2.3.7 AOSP roms I recently have been using.

Can anyone tell me the differencees between the two roms when someone has tried both?
(Virtuous Quattro RC3 & IceColdSandwhich)

Will be putting this on tonight myself, so will post some opinions.

Not able to try and get this on my phone tonight, but look forward to hearing what you have to say on it... as it's no longer beta, I think I'll be giving this a go!

I have one question though... the last time I tried one of the ICS betas and I went on the market and to "my apps", I found that there were a load that didn't show up in the list - have you had any issues with that?

I assume you already knew that only your paid apps show up in the list of your apps? So, you'll have to write down or remember all the free ones you have installed or rely on Titanium to get them back. I've just checked the Market and all paid apps appear to be there, including loads I forgot I'd paid for ages ago and had long since uninstalled, so no problems there.

As for first impressions of this build, it looks very nice and makes my phone look shiny and brand new (as all new ROMs seem to do when you first install them). As for the practicalities, WiFi is fine, but I haven't tried bluetooth yet and won't be doing so until I get in my car again tomorrow. The installation zip has the latest kernel installed with it and gapps is also included in the zip. Trebuchet home screen is probably one of the best looking I've seen, although I would like to be able to remove or move the 'apps' button from the bottom bar as it is permanently centred, where I think the phone shortcut should actually be (this is actually a telephone, after all). I'm not sure I like the new contacts graphics, which are based on Google+ graphics, but at least it syncs properly with Facebook and downloads the pictures (something which I couldn't achieve on earlier ICS ROMs I'd installed). Something new in the processor settings is that you can see the current CPU frequency live, which updates every second, I like that for some reason. I'm currently running this ROM from the SD card, but if it behaves over the next few days, it will definitely be replacing my Oxygen ROM on the phone itself. It's that much slicker and more beautiful, I just need to make sure it works as well as it looks.

All mine always appear after a ROM flash?

There's also a list of all apps you've ever installed via the market website. Makes it easier than writing then down.

Really? Even the free apps? I've only ever seen my paid apps show in the "My Apps" list. Oh hang on, I think we might have crossed wires here and I perhaps misunderstood D-U-R-X in his post. If you have a fresh ROM install and haven't restored anything from TB yet, then when you go to the Market only paid apps show up to ask you if you want to install them. I wonder if D-U-R-X meant he restored from TB, but then when he went to the Market his installed apps didn't all show up. I'll check that now.

Yeah? Where's that then?

Yeah, I get annoyed that stuff I've not installed in ages download itself again. I think after you've linked the phone to your gmail account, you have to leave it sync for a bit before you access the market.

Would be interested in that link too, if you have it :).

..and beaten to it, thanks :-). Oh hang on, isn't that just the Market front page? Ahh, right, in My Library.

It is a while ago that I tried one of the beta builds and I can't quite remember what I did and it's been a long day, so I may now be talking rubbish... I did mean without restoring anything with TB, just going to the Market and "my apps"... was sure I'd had more than my paid apps... don't really know - when I get a go at installing this tomorrow, I will see what happens!

Evening all, thought i would drop in and say hello, its like a morgue over at the XE forum:rolleyes:
