ICS is rolling out

Sony has just rolled out custom Rom ,for developers for Xperia S ICS 4.0.4
so in future many updates coming grab your self a good one

I'm in the UK - bought the phone last week and downloaded PCC. Tells me 2.3.7 is latest software. The question is this
My SI number is 1257-0985. On Sony's site, I've found a list and it goes 0980, 0986, 0987, 0989 etc...
There are obvious gaps and the list appears to be in sequence. Does anybody know what these gaps mean, should I be worried that my number isn't listed at all???

Starts to go through the process of updating but when it gets to the bit of preparing the hone for update it asks me to unplug the usb from both the phone and the computer and turn of the phone and wait for 5 seconds then plug the usb back into the computer and while u plug the phone into the usb hold the volume down botton on the phone, sounds simple huh but i just cant get it to work i have sat for 3 hours trying different things but i just cant get it to work can any1 help plz i dont no wot to try anymor i literally want to kill sum1 about now.

Did you unplug from the phone, keep it in the pc.
Hold volume up and keep hold, then plug the cable into the phone, still holding volume up.

If done correctly a blue light will come on

All

Have an S on o2 UK.

Was told by a o2 person that ICS was going to be pushed out on the 20 July.

She told my email and said she would mail me when pushed out. Will update after as only a few days away.

:)

Yep I did using the swiss firmware, have to admit though both times I flashed it I never did a clean install.
Interesting, I'm on Swiss as well. I did wipe though, following the xda rooting instructions for locked bootloaders. What ROM are you on now, and does it perform better?

I'm back on uk generic .75, I made a back up ftf before I flashed ics.

For me I've found that gb is a lot less laggy, better battery life once you uninstall the crappy power save app. I haven't rooted yet, I keep getting the urge to unlock my bootloader though :p think I'll do that when a stable ics is out.

I've rooted, running the Swiss ICS using set cpu.
Yesterday when I got to bed around 11.30,I had 55% left.

Screen on time was just short of 2 hours

There is another swiss rom available over on xda, I might give that one a go.

Have you frozen any apps now your rooted? Also seeing as your using set cpu have you under clocked?

I tried one or two ROMS but they wouldn't work.
It's not as simple as it was with my HTC DESIRE.
I under clock my phone when the screen is off.
Recently set it to use SmartassV2.

I know it's daunting but flashing your own via flash tool is easy to do.

I have thought about it and did so with the x-10 but am only 3 months into a 24 month contract :(

Anyway with reading some of the comments on them that have done there's is it worth it ?

Just a heads up guys, ics is out for generic uk .453 :) have my phone plugged into my laptop now looking at the update notification, just need to charge it up first lol

You updated via PCC? Did you lose root?

I wasn't rooted to begin with so no root to lose, I've been waiting to see if a simpler method of rooting came out with ics before I rooted, but now seeing as the rooting methods for locked bootloaders all require you to start on gb and flash with flashtool a few times I may just unlock my bootloader and use a custom kernel :)

Tbh though when I bought this phone I really wanted a phone that I diddn't have to muck around with as I have had to do with most of my previous smart phones
