Root ICS Rom

After ICS source code is released, I was just curious on what people are thinking on when we will see an ICS rom. I know for the Hero, we had an alpha build for GB in 3 weeks after GB source code was released

i think its because 9 sounds better. And also it might lead people that it is honeycomb. Cause 7 was gingerbread, 8 honeycomb/ see what i mean?

I was just thinking of this, seeing the new Samsung Nexus that was just dropped. I really want to see a ICS Rom made for our phone.

Yeah I read the blurb. Source is not available yet, but when it is, you can bet that the CM team will be going to work.

are they going to release the source? I read that honeycomb still hasn't been released, and from my understanding isn't planned to be...

(Of course, this is all second hand hearsay.. so take it with a grain of salt)

It sounds like Google will be releasing the source code as soon as the Nexus phone is released with ICS

They say the reason why they didn't release the source code for Honeycomb was because Honeycomb was for tablets only. If the released the source code for HC, then developers would be developing for phones and Honeycomb was not designed for phones, only tablets.

They are already getting apps out of ics and putting them in our roms,

SNS 1.8 has "- Added Music 4.0 from Ice cream sandwich" on it.

i have the rom, looked at it for a second. it trys to put album art as a thumbnail in front of the listing on screen I saw. Had a thumb of one of my pics that isn't an album on there in one line. thought that was funny.

Didn't mess with it though, not sure how it works.

b) it's for tablets (like you said)

From what I've read, that's not true. ICS is supposed to bring the phone and tablet OS's together. I've also seen that it's not supposed to be extremely resource hungry, so our Evo's should have no problem running ICS as long as dev community supports our device. Considering CM7 supports the Hero and OG Droid, I would imagine our Evo's would receive full ICS support from the CM team.
