ICS - Surely someone must've built a decent working ROM by now?

What the title says really. Ironically, if I had an unrooted phone I would have ICS from O2 by now. With this in mind, surely some enterprising Dev must have created a stable ROM by now? Any hints or tips?
 
i updated a friend to ICS on his 3 mobile. I cant say i was impressed. Maybe the new pop up menus were a nice addition but alot of features i had grown to love vanished. I cant even find the battery status graph anymore.
 
Hawker is right about the patience. I remember how buggy the first build of gingerbread was on the SGS2, compared to that its not actually that bad. The latest build at the moment is LP3. I've not tried it but apparently its the best build so far.
 
I have stock LPQ on my Three Mobile and have no problems with it. I've Rooted it, removed all the bloat, it's fast and stable. Thumbs up from me.

So, it seems that Google has started to roll out Android 4.0.4! :)

It is rolling out for the Nexus S, Galaxy Nexus and Xoom according to this:-

I use hydrogen rom..very fast and stable. The version I'm using doesn't have video recording but the latest one does.

I can't really fault it. I did have "sticky scrolling" but that disappeared when I turned the touch sensitivity up to max.
 
I use AndyX ROM primarily but I'm trying other atm like Litening Rom and I might give the Omega one a shot as well. But AndyX is about as decent working as I've seen. If you're patient, you can try a bunch of roms and find the best one :)
 
Im looking at all the versions of ICS available on xda and i cant make up my mind which one to try. If anyone has a suggestion for a good and stable version of ICS id love to hear it. I have an I9100 on Bell. Im already rooted. Thanks.
 
im a fan of Omega rom, others like wannamlite, and the rest have a thing for andyrom

it all depends on which one you fancy having a look at

admittidley we are all waiting for checkrom so until then its a try it and see im afraid

btw, go for omega its the best :)
 
omega rom is prob the best of a bad bunch. if you want a smooth, error/lag free rom, with decent battery life, stick with checkrom/gingerbread for the moment.
 
I was looking at omega today and it did perk my interest. My buddy has checkrom on his gs2 and swears by it. Both seem impressive. Thanks for the advice everyone
 
checkrom is the best one if staying on 3.x.x
i've stuck with wanamlite for 4.x.x
currently on v10.6 and it seems ok (only flashed it a few hours ago) v10.5 had a few issues and previous versions have proved to be pretty good with excellent battery life so hoping the latest offering has ironed out any bugs from the last one.

if you want 4.x.x then i would recommend wanamlite with the ICS theme.
theres no way i could go back to Gingerbread after being used to ICS
 
I installed checkrom 6 with the siyah 2.6 kernel. It is pretty sick. A few minor bugs but easily overcome. I think im gonna wait for checkrom ICS. Im not in a hurry to change roms yet. I was wondering if anyone had suggestions as to a good modem to try. Im in canada on the bell network.
 
The problem with modems is that what works for one person, on one network in one part of the world, may not work for another, I'm afraid. Also, new doesn't always mean better.

It really is a case of... "Suck it and see".

The last, universally acknowledged modem that seemed to work for almost everyone, was the KI4, available from the Kitchen Pro in CheckROM, where there are about a dozen different modems you can flash.

Of the latest crop of modems, LPQ, LPR and LPS, they have had a mixed reception for the reasons stated above. Personally, for my situation, they have all been very good.

You really need at least 3 or 4 days on a modem to test it out. Unless, of course, it is truly awful... unlikely though.

I was so used to the VERT ICS theme that I was kinda disappointed to learn that the ACTUAL ICS theme is no different to Gingerbreads. Not blue at all :P .

Everything works well on GB these days :D

I don't really notice the difference in modems unless it's a major fault. Happy go lucky I guess...more happy than lucky though!

Rudedawg, what ICS rom did you install to lose the battery graph?
