Not sure why a Mod would punish someone to go after trolls ( dev wannabe's ).....I am a moderator too and I try to get rid of trolls, bad people, wannabe's etc. myself..... So if I miss such a person, I'd be thankful to other's who recognized them as "fakes" and take some action ! ( I am a mod in an non-technical forum ) But if some fake "wannabe-dev" is bricking other peoples property, ANY and I say ANY moderator with some brain should be greatful for the help in identifying fakes and warn people about them !!!

The catch to all of that is that PUBLICLY going after someone here at AF is not allowed (per OUR Forum Rules that everyone agreed to when signing up). They aren't just random words on a page and are there for a reason. They are the rules we enforce. They apply to all (noob, developer, troll, fanboi, man, woman, etc). There is a system in place for these very reasons and problems. That's what the report button is for.
As we've stated many times in many places and in many threads, attack issues and not users.
If something is suspicious, report it with as much detail as you can and we'll address it (sometimes it's lengthy PMs back and forth with you trying to get the scoop... sometimes it's obvious what's up). Regardless, as mentioned on the first page, we don't and never ban based on suspicion alone.
As a moderator on another site, I'm sure you understand the tools available to us, the owner and the admin. I'm sure you understand that there are rules that, as staff, WE must follow before acting on certain items. The regular user and even the guides on the forum don't have access to those tools or that information so making claims that can't be proven just, let's be frank, done to piss people off and cause more harm than good. That being said, if they do (or think they have) proof, click the report button and bring it to us. We GLADLY welcome the information!
Everything is a fine line... some people get upset and say we have done too much. Others say we haven't done enough. We follow the action and guidance and rules that the owner and admin have set in place (as well it should be... I'm not the one paying the bills after all).
