How ironic. I just sent my phone into an endless bootloop while flashing Tranq on Wednesday.
But it was definately my fault. I got sloppy with my ROM flashing technique. I still remember how freaking anal I was when I flashed my very first ROM (UD)... I probably made 4 or 5 nandroids... made backups of my backuped backups... synced all my apps to the AppBrain cloud more times than I can count.. took me all damn day to work up the nerve.
Once I got around to flashing Tranq I was driving down the highway, already had the zip file downloaded and sitting on the root of my SD card. And I wanted to flash it right then so my phone would be ready to play with once I got home. So I went for it without double checking the instructions on the website on how to flash it... BIG MISTAKE!!!
Now I still don't know where I got this in my head, but I was sure that I'd seen that I was supposed to go into 'Mounts and Storage' and format the cache, the data AND the system. I remember seeing that somewhere and having to read it again because it seemed strange to me formatting the system first because I'd never seen that done before. Since SBFing I've gone back to look, and I don't see those instructions on anything, none of the ROMs I was checking out. But I swear I saw it somehwere, I didn't dream those instructions... they are the instructions for something!
So anyways, after I flashed the zip everything looked like it had gone off without a hitch just like all the rest of them. So I rebooted, and the Tranquility logo came up instead of the Moto "M". After about 20 minutes (I gave it some time because I've heard some ROMs take a few minutes to load up the first time. But after 20 minutes had passed I figured I was in trouble. Sure enough it took me two days to get back to where I was before this mess (running GummyJAR). That was my first time every having to sbf. Was rather challenging without having the internet there (only internet I have is through my phone) to assist me in getting the right drivers, the right version of RSDlite, and to ask questions on how to go about doing the actual process.
Now that I'm back to where I'm loving my phone, I'm questioning if flashing anything else is even worth it anymore? I mean why fix something that isn't broken right?
Awe who am I kidding, I have to get back on that horse and ride!!!
