If you love games on phone, avoid android.

Lucky me, I have an iPad. So I get every Gameloft, badass game

You gotta be kidding me right?

Now I could understand if the title of your thread was "Avoid the Evo if you like gaming" BUT... the Nexus One beats the sh#t out of anything the iPhone could throw at it with two words ---- emulators + wiimote

On my Nexus One you can use a free wiimote control app and play every single Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, Sega Genesis, and (soon to be) N64 game out there!

Your really telling me that you would rather pay Gameloft's $5 for a 45 min game like Dungeon Hunter, over a free download of Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past?! Super Metroid?! riiiiiiiiiight

Now I will agree the Evo in particular got pretty screwed by HTC putting non-removable Sense UI on there which blocks the wiimote controller from working, but lets not confuse people with saying to avoid Android altogether. They just need to get the right Android phone for gaming... the Nexus One :)

100% agree with this. Emulators = ultimate gaming on phone. Hundreds of thousands of games...tons of them vastly more interesting than mobile phone games. Never been a fan of fancy graphics and frills, I love gameplay / plot.

To me most of those fancy games are nice, but really nothing more than bragging rights / proof of concept. How long are you really going to sit there and play some huge game on a tiny phone? Personally I can find better things to do with my time than that. Playing a game or two while waiting for an appointment, that's one thing but something that you envelop yourself in, I'd rather do that at home on a large HDTV with a sound system, rather than a 4 inch screen.

Any chance of hacking around this to get that working on EVO? sounds sweet as hell.

I have my bias about PC FPS games. Any FPS worth a damn on a console came from a PC first. None of that Halo garbage. Nothing beats a mouse and keyboard.

Back to the EVO.

With all due respect... WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?!

Games I've been playing on my EVO:

ExZeus
Raging Thunder 1&2
Dungeon Hunter
Hungry Shark
Buka
Randiant
Meteor Blitz
Snesoid (with plenty of SNES games)
SkyForce Reloaded
Doodle Jump

and of course...

Teeter

That's just so far and they're all very fun games.

Next on my list is N.O.V.A.

It's so sad to see Apple fans sink to that level.

Your precious company is losing market dominance. Accept it.

If those are the games for Android then its a drop in the bucket compared to the iPhone.

Here is my list of games that I am currently running on my EVO. I don't play them much but they run smooth

Sniper Vs Sniper
Super K.O. Boxing *
Let's Golf *
HAWX *
Asphalt 5 *
Home Run *
Raging Thunder *
Heavy Gunner *
Super Tumble
Flight Director
Millionaire *
Armored Strike
What the Doodle
Skyforce Reloaded
Diamond
Toon Warz *

Most of that list is 3d games * from the Iphone and they all run flawless.

First off, if you don't have a physical keypad, all you can SERIOUSLY play are casual games or a dumbed down crap version for touch. That goes for ANY device. Iphone, Ipod, Ipad, Android, Palm, or anything else I left off that has a touchscreen but no physical keypad. Period. For real gaming you need something physical. Think I'm wrong? Then try putting a touch screen user against a computer user or console user, for something like COD. Dumb down the console or pc to be as slow as the touch version. Now, who do you think will win? Touch controls or real controls? WELL?

Awesome?

If games are your thing might I suggest a PS3, Xbox or even a wii rather than trying to play them on a cellphone sized screen.

Yeah, no kidding. Splinter Cell on the iPhone? **** that. I had an iPhone and had all kinds of games but the only games I'd ever play were pinball and Doodle Jump and Angry Birds. Simple, easy access games are where it's at and Android has plenty.

surprised noone mentioned this. Gaming on touch screen only is massively flawed... no buttons!

Tapatalk. Samsung Moment. Yep.

sound like me.. only add - wii, ps2, ps1, ps3 (two), 360, 3 puters, evo and gave the hubby my ipod touch :D

oh forgot.. DS and PSP too ...

I am covered completely in the gaming world :D

hahaha, well since i have a fatty 60 gig ps3 it plays ps1 and 2 games and it has movies on it thanks to the 300gig drive, and I count my machine as the gaming one, the other 3 are not really for gaming anymore...especially the laptop, sold my psp a long time ago. I have been fighting the wife requests for a wii now for 2 years and still going strong! :D

The iPhone does have really good free and paid games, which the Android market does not have. But, the iPhone does not have emulator, which if you are into the NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, or GameBoy; you can can get from the Market and download the games for free. Games like Super Mario Bros, Sonic the Hedgehog and other major console games. This is where the iPhone does not compare to the evo's gaming experience. I currently have 15 NES games and 12 Genesis games that run with no problems and my gaming library is continuing to grow every day.

Seriously?

Adults who play video games need to stop and grow up. No woman is going to bang the guy who has a DS.

Maybe you should meet my fiance then. We both have DS's

Whats the difference between an adult playing a video game and a poker game? A board game? They are all games. All designed to do the same thing. Have fun/kill time.

Why are quite a few video games marketed directly at people 18+?

I do miss Angry Birds on my iPhone, but that's about it.

Angry Birds is tha shit lol... They updated it by the way. More levels!

/On topic.. Im sure the OP knew about the other options for gaming.. I dont think he needed everyone and their mother to chime in on how he should play an 360 or a psp if he wants a richer gaming experience. He just said the Evo is lacking for what HE wants. Hell I'm not a serious gamer but from what I've seen of the gaming i tend to agree with him.

lol. Calm down. Sorry I offended you. Just joking around. You'll have to excuse my adolescent immaturity.
