I also have to keep reminding myself that its only .3 of an inch upgrade from my original incredible. That is not even 1/2 of an inch. I guess the sole reason would be to get the 4g and keep the smaller size.

Also, how do you review a phone you've never seen? That's ludicrous right there.
Yep. Some bloggers maintain a healthy skepticism despite their previous experiences (either good or bad). Others go beyond that and reach conclusions based not on fact but on assumptions -- which, of course, they present as 'confirmed'.

Kind of sounds like us, if you think about it, or like the comments below a new-product announcement on Engadget or TheVerge. Plenty of people react to the first news of a shiny new CE product with both drool and disgust, exclaiming it to be the next messiah or evil incarnate, yet with no actual experience of the product itself. [Look up any coverage of a new product from Bose to see what I mean.]

I like androidforums because we get to get giddy or grossed out over the tiniest detail hinted at in the latest wisp of a rumor. Here, I know I should expect more noise than signal. But on a blog that purports to be at all authoritative, I hope for some professionalism or at least critical thinking. Then again, that's why I'm really selective about the blogs I rely on, because most of them are crap.

Although the back looks a little different this is a Dinc 2 (almost exact same size) upgraded in every way:
Dinc 2 Dinc 4GLTE
1. Single core 1 GHz Snapdragon vs. Dual Core S4
2. Still 768 RAM vs 1 GB Ram
3. 800x480 WVGA SLCD vs 960x540 qHD SLCD
4. 2 GB on board storage (apps) vs. 8 GB on board storage
5. Good Battery Life (1450) vs. 1700 (should be good based on One S review)
6. 3G vs. 4G LTE (integrated for Better Battery)
7. No NFC NFC

Even though some have said it is chunky (a whopping 11 mm) the Dinc 2 is 12.2 mm so it's thinner than the Dinc 2 and I think will have a great feel and balance to it. This will be the best 4.0" (by the way, there are no 720p 4.0" displays out on any phone right now) LTE Android phone on the market. It is rumored to be out @ $149 (so much for all the trolls that latched on to the Droid Does leak that left Razr branding with a $299 price). For anyone on Verizon that wants something smaller than 4.3" this is the best phone on any carrier - not sure what everyone is complaining about. Show me a better phone at this size.

^This!
Succinctly put.

I will put it through its paces when it comes out and if the price is comparable to the One S/X, this might be my next phone.

$149 would be sweet. If it's global ready as well, then I'm sold.

Still waiting for it to be announced... release date and price. That's all I want to know anymore. I agree for those of us with the original Inc or the Inc2, this is going to be a very sweet upgrade. imho!

I'm with you, I've been waiting for a 4" LTE phone. Assuming this phone performs up to expectations, this will be the upgrade path from my trusty Dinc! :D

Ouch! We could've gotten $70 from Verizon or Best Buy for my wife's DInc 1 at Christmastime. I wanted to hang onto it as a back up for a month or two, but then never got around to trading it in or selling it. Maybe eBay would be better...

I have a $50 rebate for when I upgrade at Best Buy. They also buy used electronics. Their site says I would get $35 for my og dinc. Waiting, waiting, waiting.

$35 hardly seems like its worth giving up the og Inc, its still a solid phone especially as a backup. I have 2, one is used as my cars mp3 player and its perfect for it

I'm not sure, but I think that's only if you're enrolled in their buy back program. And I believe for you to be able to trade in your dinc, you would've had to have bought the phone at best buy and enroll in the buy back program at the time you got the phone. They may be doing something different as far as trade in, but the only thing I'd ever heard of was that program, and you go something like 50% back after 6 months and less after that.

+1... I will hang onto mine as a backup. I'm getting this phone the day it's released. I'll be one of the guinea pigs that others want to wait for reviews from before they decide. I love my DInc, but I'm ready for something new. Don't think we will see any other 3.7 or 4" device any time soon if ever. Hope I get this and it last me for as long as my DInc.

Best Buy does trade-ins on their website through DealTree. You identify the item your selling rate the condition based on their descriptions, and they give you an estimated value.

You get more from Best Buy than other sites (in my experience) including Gazelle and Costco. The trade off for getting a better deal is that Best Buy gives you a gift card to use in their store, vs a check card the others give you that can use anywhere.

I totally agree with this. I am getting mine day 1 as well. I still love my Inc and want more of the same, just upgraded internals and a slightly larger screen. For me the inc4g is perfect

I'm definitely interested in this phone. The only thing I wish it had was the image sense the One series/EVO 4G LTE has.. but my colleague says his Rezound's camera is amazing and he had an OG Inc as well.

At times I've thought about jumping ship and caving for a Galaxy Nexus... mainly because I've been running CM7/CM9 on my Dinc for sometime I've grown to like ASOP so much... but at least the Inc4G has an unlocked boot loader so only a matter of time after it's launched.

The only deciding factor for me is if it's priced at $150, it will be an instant day one purchase. $200 and up I'll have to think about it... Even though my OG Inc was $200 at launch I seem to recall I had got some $100 off discount from somewhere... maybe because I upgraded from a feature phone at the time and it was a promotion.

I bought an iPhone 4S in October after the Inc Gingerbread delay, not to mention my plug was loose and I was out of warranty. About the iPhone... I hate the lack of customizable options. I only like the fact I can put all of my music on it. Does anyone think the Inc 4G will support a manual 64GB microsd? I'm considering selling my iPhone and getting this because Apple software blows. I want my Android back.

I just read that the Dinc4g is not using the same processor as the Ones. It uses the 1.2ghz 8930 instead of the 1.5 - 1.7 ghz 8960. According to the Qualcom site it should have the Adreno 305 instead of the 220, which prolly makes zero difference. But this all means that it isn't the same processor just underclocked, and that it doesn't have the cool camera of the One series. Plus it is officially not being considered a One variant. This took a bit of the wind out of my sails. Now I'm starting to agree that this can only justify a lower price tag like $150. I was holding out for more from this phone, but after the slcd surprise, its been mainly bad news. What remains for me is if it comes with a SD card loaded, and if it will be wirelessly chargeable and if it has an FM receive. Iguess that dropbox space offer is still good. What else would sweeten the pot for this phone...earbuds w mike?

Your information is off. The 8930 is single core. We already know the Incredible 4G LTE is dual.

Thanks for this, more than likely the 8930 is indeed the soc in the droid incredible 4g. Compared to the 8960 in the one x or evo we have:

1.2 ghz 80% clock speed

Adreno 305 ~ 75% the gpu performance per qualcomm (at qHD this should still be good)

Single channel memory instead of dual channel of the 8960 (could be a bottleneck)
It also says that chip will be available for customer sampling in 2h of 2012. I think may 2012 is 1h of 2012.
