for some reason verizon's giving me an upgrade even though i got a new phone in October of last year? so hopefully this baby comes out before early august. :) i cant stand this iphone anymore....
 
This phone better come out May 31st. I have been without a functional phone for over a month. Verizon will not replace my defective Incredible because 1) It's not under warranty and 2) I didn't buy insurance.

What horrible business policies. The sales rep ask me if I had a spare phone that I could use!!! My Incredible constantly reboots...then craps out. It all started 2 weeks after I became eligible for an upgrade back in April.

It won't. Its looking like its going to come out later in June. Also, I found out sprint has decent coverage where I live so I definitely can consider moving to Sprint as an option now.

I can boot into the bootloader but there's no recovery installed. I can't do HBOOT USB PLUG stuff too. I've tried almost everything asked in #androidforums on IRC. The dudes on #androidforums basically say the fone is broke. I am out of luck until this 4g fone comes out.
 
I honestly have no idea why OEMS even announce a device if it's not ready to sell. It makes no sense at all and they end up shooting themselves in the foot. This is what happens.

OEM/carrier announces new device
People get excited about new device
Device never comes out
Excitement dies down
People move on to another device
Device is finally released
Very few people buy it as no one cares any more

I'll give it to Apple, at least they do it right. They announce a device and then, as the fervor over the device is at a fevered pitch, they roll it out in stores. That is how you do a release. Android OEMs don't seem to grasp this and I have no idea why.

They do even better. They don't announce a device (iPhone 5) and let people go NUTS over it. Then they announce their old device with an "s" at the end and people buy millions as they wait weeks for their phone because Apple had "unexpected demand" ... I hate apple. :mad:
 
When i talked to the sales rep at the store on friday he said that he thought it would be released either today or yesterday but he said definitely before the end of the month. So hopefully a 31st release
 
Hopefully we will hear something today. It is the first day of the work week after a holiday. Shipments could be made, announcements could be made, dummy phones could be made, we will see.
 
Nothing would surprise me however I believe the announcement will come on a Wednesday for a Thursday release. Hopefully this week or next. Might be longer. See, I speak Verizonese.

He probably doesnt know about the customs issue. Again, I wouldn't expect this phone in stores until we hear that the Evo 4G LTE and One X are available in stores. The sales reps only know what they heard from the press release which is "in the coming weeks".

I'm not a fan of Apple for a number of reasons, but they do know how to do a release right. They announce the device. They announce a release date and then they release the device while the fervor is at it's peak. Meanwhile Android OEMs announce a device, wait for all the excitement to die down, then quietly release it. Just look at the Galaxy SIII. They announced it to a ton of hype. Then they're going to wait 2-3 weeks to actually release it. By the time it comes out, the hype has died down and no one cares any more.
 
I found a couple of interesting news items:

www technobloom com/htc-one-x-delivers-grand-slam-feature-set-with-new-lower-retail-price-offering/229269/ mentions the One X cleared customs on May 23.

www technobloom com/htc-evo-4g-lte-gets-rooted/229232/ mentions that people have begun receiving EVO 4G pre-orders.

Maybe this gives us hope that warehouses have the Inc 4g in hand?

Edit - TechCrunch also verifies that EVO 4G LTE had cleared customs and phones were sitting in Sprint's warehouses on May 21. If the One X and Incredible 4G were also held up for the same reason and the dispute is being resolved by either HTC or the mobile providers, this is a good sign.

That doesnt explain why the Incredibles screen looks better than the One V's and the One X's. It definitely does not look like an SLCD screen.


Edit: To the post above mine, thats old news. You still cant buy the Amaze 4G, the Evo 4G LTE, and the One X. Theyre all unavailable at the moment.

source? also would you guys think it would be worth it if the incredible were to not come out before the 3rd(end of double data promotion)to upgrade to a bionic or 79$ razer and then maybe pay the restocking fee to get incredible
