I stopped by my Verizon store today and chatted with a rep (not a sales person.) He was very forthcoming, without saying anything concrete. He told me he knew things but couldn't reveal what he knew. Then he proceeded to not tell me things - get my drift? He was still reeling from the June 28th change and has a meeting Friday to be informed about it. He also mentioned there is no releases date for the Incredible 4G, and pointedly said if would be after the Samsung and August was a reasonable date to expect.

Damn damn.

cause if you upgrade after the 28th, no more unlimitrd data for you. Phones get released on thursdays so the 21st would be the last thursday possible to get the inc4g before the 28th. Unless you hate unlimited data.

but arent you already locked in to unlimited? ok i think i just figured out what you mean, you have a upgrade now and if you use it that gives you 2 years before you have to worry about it again, right? but if you want the inc 4g you will have to do some trading or buying or something then put it on your line later. my situation is my wife has the upgrade and she uses a dumbphone so i was going to use her upgrade for the inc 4g and put it on my line and put her back on her dumbphone. i was hoping the shared data plans would be to our benefit so i could get her on a smartphone. but it would cost me way to much to use the data share plan.

i was wondering who to hate htc or verizon for making us wait so long for the inc.4g?? lately verizon is making it pretty easy for me hate them more.

My wife and I are both on the same plan and we both want the inc 4g (well i do, she can care less, she is not tech savy however, i find it strange she uses more data than me) we are both able to upgrade but I think i might have to pull the trigger on something (to get one last subsidized phone) before the 28th. Hopefully the inc comes out within 14 days (you know that phone testing out period) of when I get a phone before the 28th.

I don't think it is HTC which rolled out the one x, one s, evo 4g pretty quick given they had some speed bumps. I think verizon has gotten so big they think they are hot *beep*.

i would agree, maybe they are just putting all there bloatware on the phones before we get them. hurry up already, that dang 4.3 inch screen is to big my first incredible is small. i think this 4 inch screen is going to be right where i need to be.

I give up on this phone. Verizon is going to keep delaying it and delaying it til everyone who wanted this phone has moved on. Its absolutely ridiculous, you'd think they'd have learned by now. Dont tell your customers to expect a phone in the coming weeks if its going to release months later. I'm preordering the S3 tonight or tomorrow and just praying that those June 21st rumors are true so I'm not stuck with a massive phone.

Haha, Unfortunately, for whatever reason, Verizon has the worst phone release department of them all. The thunderbolt, the galaxy nexus, this phone, and I'm sure there were others I'm forgetting. Even the S3 is releasing later than the other big 3.

Doesn't surprise me one bit. The rep at the store also told me when I stopped in to activate the Inc 2 I bought on Tuesday said she would be very surprised if it was anytime this month. Well maybe this Inc 2 I activated with get ICS soon. I think I am just going to have to ween myself off this thread and just wait till hear an announcement. Every time I read this tread I get more and more disappointed.

That being said.. I refuse to buy a different phone I don't want just to keep unlimited data. June 28th can come and go for this Inc 4G for all I care. If it comes out and I still want it, I'll just pay full retail so I keep my unlimited data.

I feel your pain bud!... I think Verizon has gotten to big for their own good. They can keep all their Motorola and Samsung phones. I don't want any of them...

I HAVE MADE MISTAKES IN MY LIFE, OK!? :p ;)

Yelling at a ref and getting a technical foul is a mistake.
Jaywalking is a mistake.
Accidentally shooting someone roadside because they cut you off is a mistake.
Robbing 16 banks of millions of dollars is a mistake.

What you did sir is unforgivable!

how does it work going from 3g service to 4g? i have a rooted eris right now with unlimited data. if i can't get the inc4g or don't want any of the other 4g phones that are out right now. if i end up buying something used later on after the 28th, do I just call up and verizon and have them activate the 4g phone and now i'm tied into the LTE system? or do i already need to be on LTE service to add a new 4g phone?

You can change phones without changing your plan or losing unlimited data as long as the phone price is not subsidized. Going from 3G to 4G is irrelevant.
