Incredible owners bash EVO

It felt overly light and plasticky to me. Nowhere near as solid as an iphone. But like I said, I fully expect the Evo to be different.

I agree with this. I picked up the Incredible and was very turned off by it. I am hoping the Evo is much more solid...it looks that way in the videos!

Sprint rocks in my area. I have been with them for about 5 years now and I have yet to have one problem with them. And the Incredible did feel a bit light for my tastes, but it is a fine phone none the less.

I went and played with the incredible the other day. It felt super cheap/chintzy. If the Evo feels anything like that thing I want 0 to do with it. Hopefully (I'm assuming) the Evo will be a much better build quality phone

The build quality will be the same... And you couldn't be more off with your conclusion of the Incredible. That phone is awesome and solid.

I do gotta say....the new Incredible tv ad is kinda really kick-ass......kinda funny though....when the EVO will be even faster than that.

And I keep hearing some posters say that the 4G where they are testing EVO's is barely quicker than Verizon's 3G....but they are not mentioning what city and where are the relavant to the heart of that 4G Network?

But its about time Sprint gets a phone that will be "King of the Hill" for a little while.

Exactly. If they are in a relatively new 4G market it's not going to be good as we would have in Philly or Baltimore which have been active for a good while now.

Listen, the Evo is a great device, note that I did not call it a phone. It's not really a phone IMO. The unit is too big to be a phone and falls under the mini tablet category.

Further more if you buy a case for the evo there is now way it will fit in your pocket and you will need a mini laptop bag to carry it around. This is why I giggle when people are so excited about the 4.3" screen which is not even AMOLED by the way. The device is simply too big to pocket.

Thats what I keep thinking...I know Baltimore for one, should have the strongest network, as it has been in place a couple years now.

Im just curious as to where these testers are, when compared to how new that 4G network is, and where its strongest point is?

By the way...how bout them Flyers?? lol

LCD > AMOLED. amoled is crappy in sunlight as such im happy the evo doesnt have it,
now if it was super amoled, thats another story to which that would be awesome

as for too big to pocket, thats just a personal preference.
as of right now, i dont often put my pre in my pants pocket. i just dont like anything in my jeans pocket that isnt really small (flash drives, ids, money).

but i will see when i get it and how goofy would i like when im on the phone (which isnt often)

well damn... guess I should just cancel my pre-order now! oh wait.. ya that's a no :) Good thing I have purse then isn't it

One bad thing I noticed over in Incredible land is the screens are cracking at an alarming rate. I'm not sure its because of the LED screen or its the flimsy nature of the casing but there have been many screens destroyed in a very short time with what seems like minor drops some as little as 2 feet to a hardwood floor.

Damn it!!! I dont have a purse!!!

I do agree it is a big big ass phone!!...
the leather case will be just huge on my hip.
i hope it dont look to silly.
I hope I dont look to silly talking on it!
I will be using my bluetooth more often.

I have a hero, i think it is a great size phone.
but for web and everything else (other than phone needs), the 4.3 screen will be awesome!

wow.. really??
I was thinking about this too...
my guess is that the size is the issue. Screen is bigger than most, and it is a then device. That makes it easy to be twisted and transfer shock to the glass screen.
The EVO is even a bigger screen!

That's a matter of opinion. It's as tall as an incredible and as wide as an iphone.

I don't get why the bashing. I am an Incredible owner, and I like the Inc., but I think I'll like the EVO better. I've pre-ordered an EVO from BB, and plan on trying it for the 30 day period. I know that I'll love the EVO, I'm just not sure as yet that Sprint's coverage in my area will be acceptable.
