Root IncrediLight - LED Flashlight App

i use this as a non rooted dinc and it works like a charm

Flashlight - Android app on AppBrain

chart

Any chance of a widget set to high (or configurable). Easily the best flashlight app for the incredible - this is for incredilight

+1. If there were widgets that went to each of the available settings (low, medium, high and flash) I would definitely buy it.

the picture of the widget in the market is incredibly ugly and enough to make me not buy it. I'd prefer something like an HTC or Beautiful widget look.

Hey the App doesn't actually turn on the notification LED, it turns on the Camera flash LED. For those of you that got the update this week, it no longer requires root if you have Froyo... Not that any of you would have that yet... :-) As well, the screen won't timeout and shut off the light....

I'm also working on updating the icons and enable to select from a set or two of them for the Widget.

Thanks for all of you that make suggestions...

So there will be an LED flashlight in Froyo? I thought I'd heard that before, but wasn't sure.

Are you using network access to check if the phone is rooted somehow? The update that came out for Incredilight this week mentioned it required network permissions.

LEDs used in flashlights have large heat-sinks; the goods ones are usually coupled to the case of the unit (where the case is metal at least).

I don't know what heat-sinking is used in the Evo 4G for the flash LEDs. Sometimes its just the solder pads that mount the LED. If that is the case, then running it for more than a few seconds at a time will kill it very quickly.

Regardless though, if you saturate the heat-sink, the LED will die. The question is, how long will it take to saturate, or is it sufficiently well cooled that you can't (highly highly doubtful).

While true, you're not going to have to worry about it. I've had LED lights on several cell phones on for 30+ minutes and they were fine. I'm sure the Inc's will not burn out. HTC is even modifying the ROM to allow us to use them as a flashlight, so it doesn't seem to be a concern.

Yah, the network access was for the admob at the bottom there... For those that requested prettier icons, I updated those as well.. You now have a settings app that let you select from the two icon sets... I still suck at drawing stuff...

Barely found out while on the Froyo ota, while your recording, the leds can stay on without root or Incredilight. I love the app tho, and the widget. Very bright levels and "Flash" is brighter than the sun, I enjoy blinding everybody. :)

funny my son came in a few hours ago with his X's LEDs blazing--just got the app from the market. another inc disappointment.

No its not, because when froyo comes out you get the HTC Flashlight app, and before that you can either root and install the foryo with get the app, or download Incredilight...

They all work, just need a bit of hacking :P
