Is "Android ADB Interface" the same as "Android Bootloader Interface"
Yeah what is going on here? The android adb interface was all good. The reason everyone wanted the old eng bootloader was for the fastboot commands in sdk in case you got stuck in bootloader. What hboot do you have beast?
I was using this: public:windows_hboot_driver_install [RootWiki]
Is this old? Can I root with Android ADB Interface showing instead of Android Bootloader Interface?
All of this is all new to me.
did you see this...?
(Important Note: for some reason, my phone didn’t list an Android 1.0 as a selectable option. Anything listed as an Android is what you are looking for)
(NOTE: Some have had to Re-Install the HBOOT drivers a second time after the initial install.
Yep, I saw that. And I installed and UNinstalled HTC Sync on my Windows 7 laptop before all of this.
In Device Manager, I see "Android Phone" and in the dropdown, I see "Android ADB Interface".
I am wondering if that is OK and if I can go ahead and update that? Or did something happen that is not supposed to.
Thanks Nick and Evomatt. I updated the hboot drivers with no problem and I AM ROOTED! Can't believe it.

Dude that is old man that was when I was rooting my phone. Lol
Yeah no problem man. Welcome to the world of root, an iPhoners dream, but our reality.
And like matt said, ask away. If you follow that guide he linked you will have absolutely no problems at all.
Best advice I can give you right out of the gate, is to flash Amon_Ra recovery instead of Clockwork. Thread here talks about that and how to do it, easiest is to just do it in ROM manager, scroll to bottom and flash alternative recovery and you will have it. Then make nand backup of your current setup, then flash custom ROM of your choosing, then make backup of that, then delete first backup you made cuz you will never look back.![]()
Thanks. I was going to delete some bloatware. Should I flash Amon_Ra first?
the very first thing you should, technically, do is make a backup of your current setup plus your wimax keys
Should I use Titanium Backup for this? Can TB backup wimax keys?
Make a back up of your rom with Amon_ra, reboot and navigate to it on your sdcard and rename it, then reboot into recovery again and make a back of your wimax keys ONLY, then reboot and rename that wimax_backup or something and save it somewhere safe.
i did all this and successfully backed up my rom and wimax to my sd card and to my pc. I flashed koni's elite series iii
