Scary indeed. People really need to wake up to what we're doing to our home.

After reading that very interesting article, I read this one about day-hikers, who are the most vulnerable in survival situations. I know a lot of day-hikers, so I plan on sharing!

A generation (plus a bit) ago, Wendy’s famously asked, “Where’s the beef?” and later campaigned (regarding chicken) that “Parts is Parts.”

Both of those take on a new twist nowadays...

The Coming Obsolescence of Animal Meat

(Kind of a longish article but the it is The Atlantic...)
I'll read it tomorrow. Just wanted to say I remember that ad campaign, and that little woman...Clara something? I believe I was still omnivore at the time.

Clara Peller? (No, I didn't look it up.)

Need a few extra bucks? Fire up the grill, make up a name, and call Uber Eats... :)

“The supposed eatery, Best Burger Corp, was created by a BBC reporter to see how easily he could trade on the online platform.

Two days after registering and admitting he did not have a food hygiene rating from the local council, while promising he would get one "soon", he was given permission to sell food on the app.

He went on to cook on a filthy barbecue in his front garden, where the delivery was picked up by an Uber Eats delivery partner.”

Uber Eats allowed deliveries from fake restaurant man set up in front garden
You did notice the apple icon on ur link, right? Lol

Well, having your twins ten weeks apart does avoid the issue of them having to “share” a birthday...

Liliya Konovalova, 29, first gave birth to her daughter on May 24, and her son didn’t make his grand entrance until Aug. 9. Doctors said the odds of this happening are just one in 50 million, according to the Ministry of Health of Kazakhstan.

That's really interesting. Uterus didelphys is quite rare, and opens up all sorts of pregnancy possibilities.

But just under normal circumstances, it's easy for twins to be born in different years. (Mom delivers one baby late on December 31st, second baby follows minutes later on January 1st.)

Tinged with sadness.

Someone once quoted this to me "We look, but we don't see". Are brains are strange things, when we are driven to look for something specific, we generally only see what it is we are searching for and our brains ignore the rest.

Many of us have seen sci-fi films with food replicators, walk up and choose a meal and whoosh out it pops.

Having just finished reading Steven Baxer's new book World Engines - Destroyer I was reading the Afterword which mentioned the food replicators and a finish firm that was creating such a thing. What, I thought!!

So these clever bods have managed to create a single cell protein called Solein from co2, water and electricity.

Independent from weather and irrigation, Solein is an unlimited protein source that is free from agricultural limitations and the boundaries of imagination.
The idea came from NASA originally and the company has just been employed by ESA to help create a viable food source for travels to Mars.

It's pretty cool and hopefully it will come of age so we can all walk upto a wall and order any food we like!!

This does kind of remind me of Soylent Green tho.. :D:oops:
