I don't know about NY, but here in SoCal rat poison has led to a tragic, and definitely unwanted, side effect: it's killing our mountain lions.

A rat eats the poison--the awful kind that causes them to slowly bleed to death internally--then a cougar eats the rat. After consuming enough of them, the cougar also dies a miserable, slow death.

Ditto for coyotes and other wildlife.
I don't think it would be a solution for DC, though. Since it would eradicate rats, and DC is full of politicians and lobbyists...well, you know. ;)
Yep, I do know!

I don't know why You Tube proferred this to me, but it was a great video.

I couldn't find the thread about good videos.

It's about three new bridges the Danes seemed to get daft about. I love Danes and can't believe they would mess up, but bureaucracy and petty politics are everywhere I guess

I love Copenhagen and it's the only city I'd cycle in, but I haven't been there in 15 years. I'm gonna watch some more of this guy

That was great. Nice to see lawyers and accusers / accused cut through the feigned indignation, try a little humanity and humour to see if that works.

I'd never before heard of the murder in the red barn...but it's fascinating that its solution was triggered by a dream.

Short excerpt:

“I have very frequently dreamed about Maria,” Ann said, “and twice before Christmas, I dreamed that Maria was murdered, and buried in the Red Barn.” She would have told him sooner, Ann explained, but was afraid he’d think she was superstitious.

The Red Barn was a prominent landmark in Polstead, a quaint corner of England’s Suffolk County countryside. Named for a unique red brick roof, the building on Barnfield Hill was the last known meeting place between Maria Marten and her lover, William Corder. The pair had used the barn as a rendezvous point before apparently eloping to Ipswich on May 18, 1827.
