Root [International] Anyone tried Illusion rom?

hi guys,

so this is where you are all hanging out :D
the last aokp roms ive used were jellybeer (r.i.p!) and rootbox - rootbox was the last one - very solid rom with halo etc

oddly im currently taking an aokp break and running blackbox 4.1.2 - crazy i know :D

flash greatly all :)

cheers
dan

Lol Dan this is where all the cool kids are hangin out mate.. no room for samsungers though :p
EDIT "Touchwizzers" :-)

hiya FL,

:D i know - im normally solid on aokp - but needed a change while the devs are playing with 4.3

im currently struggling with not buying an N4 now that the price has dropped :/ :D

I'm saving myself for whatever they release next. Finally no more Samsung nonsense! I spend more time turning my S3 into an N4 than I do using my phone...

I've taken the plunge and installed and am using illusion rom! Couldn't turn down the smoothness of it, so no more pie for me and a status bar again!
How about LMT pie give it a search on XDA I use jelly bam that has pie but have always used LMT. Brilliant and free!

Just had a gander and it looks exactly like the pie that comes with illusion. But I can honestly say it isn't a scratch on paranoid androids pie!

There's a few things. The PA pie is much sharper and clearer, it fully replaces your status bar so when you get a new notification they appear on the pie, they have the two swipe gestures (up to the left opens up the quicksettings and up to the right opens up your notifications, assuming you have pie from the bottom of the screen). I'm used to the status bar now and enjoy using the onscreen buttons :thumb:

What is Paranoid Android like? I'm thinking of flashing it as I'm finding Illusion quite a drain on battery. I will be making a Nandroid though, since I do like my current setup. With better battery, this would be almost perfect.

Just want to get an idea of how stable and feature-rich PA is at the moment really??

If you use g+ theres a paranoid android i9300 community ran by a few devs who are making i9300 builds from the PA nightlys. I dont know about battery but i didnt find it all that stable. The 4.2 builds are probably good but i havent tried one.
I was happy with the battery on illusion 2.1 but on 2.5 its terrible man

I loved paranoid android, took a lot to pull me off it but I find illusion smoother and better on the battery.

Might even venture back that way at some point but enjoying this far too much at the minute. When I used PIE and Halo together it was damn good! Also I like the hybrid settings that come with it.

Dark UI and Sneak Peek are small but killer features for me :) the hybrid ui settings arent in the 4.3 build yet but i prefer it set as "phone" anyway

I'm getting pretty bad battery on Illusion 2.1, all down to Android OS...

I was gettin that and it turned out to be the OS using gps and wifi a lot in the background.
What kinda screen time can u get? I was gettin over 4h but now its 2.5h

Yeah about 3 hour screen time, tops. It's terrible, to be honest. I can go through 20% in under 30 mins...without really trying.

Edit: I've got some time now...might do a Nandroid and try PA quickly.

Hey dan. Im on illusion 2.5alpha (4.3) but if battery life is important to you id go with 2.1beta (4.2) im hoping 2.5beta will improve battery life. I was getting over 4h screen time on 2.1 but get 2.5h on 2.5

hiya funky,
ok cool thanks. is there a link for the 2.1 beta? I could only see the 2.5 version
thanks

hold on a moment.. just found it already down loaded on phone :-D
