Root [International] Flashing Roms

Noooooooo :(. Anyways. For Titanium Backup if you save files in /sdcard/titaniumbackup it wont be touched i hope. That is where i saved them now. And also i am confused where my nandroid backup is located since it switched after i downloaded cm10.1. Is my old nandroid backup going to be fine? Also where are my other ones going to go?

If your nandroid was on your internal card then check (root)/data/media. From there you'll find all your original files when you were on your Sammy ROM plus the '0' folder which now has all your 4.2.2 data in it :thumb:

I tried downloading faux's kernel then i booted into my hoem screen. Then i saw that the kernel didnt change so i booted into recovery with rom manager and now its stuck on the logo screen. Ive tried pulling out my battery.

Can you post the link to the kernel you flashed? I can only find ones from T-Mobile (US) and AT&T.

That kernel is for the Nexus 4, so that would explain it not booting up again. Only ever use software that's for the i9300 (so for example anything from here)

You'll need to flash a stock ROM again I think (which will lose root) but I don't use Windows so I can't help you there I'm afraid :( Everyone else here does use it so hopefully someone can give you a hand

One of the ways to recover a bricked phone is to flash the stock rom (in this case, i9300). Download the rom somewhere and then fladh it through ODIN or any other flashing tools.

Once i flashed stock. Rooted. Flashed CWM. Flashed CM10.1. What kernel can i use that is good for battery.

I do not know much about kernels but I think you can try the ktoonsez kernel. I heard a lot of positive reviews about this kernel.

Again, that won't work on the International i9300 ;)

OP you probably want the Siyah kernel which is probably the most popular kernel for the i9300. You won't ever get comparable battery life on CM than you will on Touchwiz, but Siyah will certainly help.

After completing these steps, Make sure to wipe the cache and do a factory reset in clockworkmod recovery if you do happen to find yourself in a bootloop (phone rebooting continuously) Or just do it anyways to prevent a bootloop from occurring.

How do i wipe cache and factory reset once i flashed rom? I dont have cwm anymore it thought.

If you flash cwm before flashing a rom, you will still have cwm because that is your own custom recovery. Anyway to wipe cache and factory reset, go into cwm recovery and then wipe cache and factory reset data :D

Oh wait, that kernel was for the Verizon version of the S3. Sorry, my mistake.

Very weird. When i put the PDA File in i think it just reset my CWM. So im all good now! I got into clockworkmod. Deleted cache. Dalvic. And rebooted. :D

I'm using Paranoid Android but it's a CM based ROM and I've found Yank 555 kernel to be spot on. I've used Siyah, Devil (Perseus based) and another one I can't spell but again it was Perseus based but found all of them to drain too quickly.

You can try other kernels and see if it is battery saving.

I tried perseus but tbh, it had too many options i didnt understand lol id have broke something so i went back to siyah which is perfect for me :)

Does anyone find all 4.2.2 roms really slow feeling until you turn off all animations?

I just downloaded Siyah and flashed it. The most imporant thing for me is standyby time. I dont use my phone often during school days. But it drains to 60 percent by the end of school. I will see what the battery drain is on siyah. Then i will try Yank. :D Thank you guys so much for all the help.
