Root [International] Unbrick LG G2

Ok. Update:

I have managed to get Download mode working and its now on firmware update.
Do i stop it, or let it finish?

Please help :) @Inferi @iowabowtech

What tot are you flashing precisely? Have you hex edited that tot? Or are you just saying you got d/l mode working and it's showing 0% as though it's about to load something?

As long as you own a 32 GB d802 and have verified it's a true d802 and not one with d800/d801 hardware inside, you may as well try flashing it. The SEA (southeast asia) tot may or may not be the ideal choice for you but unfortunately that's all we have in 32 GB to my knowledge. If you are NOT experiencing the wrong model thing still, you could use a kdz instead and pick one from your actual region, if different.

Im flashing: BIN_LGD802AT-00-V10b-SEA-XX-SEP-04-2013-32G+0.tot
I have hex edited it.
Yes, its showing 0% like its about to load something, and its says ROOTED with red letters.

Edit: Now when i try flashing .tot and .dll files it says: "CrossDL [D802] to [F320l..].

Ok, well then you're ready assuming you've done the required things such as changed to com41, swapped out the megalock dll, etc. Nothing left to do but give it a shot and see what shakes out.

See, OP says: "Because of my mistakes i have flagged the phone with the F320L version. "

Maybe i havent flagged it, maybe i dont have to hex edit .tot file to f320l version.

Question. Why do you guys kill yourself with .tot files, when you can do it very easy with a .kdz ? :-/

Because they too seem to fail when the model id is wrong. And unless you have a secret, I don't know how to bypass that situation with a kdz. All ears though.

in that cases the kdz doesn't work properly. Only works when your devices isn't flagged with wrong model and when you have a correct download mode

First, sorry for my English, I'm making this thread in my work, and I'm not good in English.

Hi, Thursday I bricked my phone.
How? By my error, I flashed the CloudyG2 V3.0, to F320L, but my phone is D802.
The phone didnt started, only appeared fastboot mode. And I made my second mistake!! I flashed by fasboot the wrong partition files.
Conclusion my phone was stuck on LG Logo and didn't had download mode, factory reset, recovery, nothing, only the LG Logo.
So I was looking for solutions. I tried 1000000000 solutions and nothing works and i found this forum and the @iowabowtech (the god of unbricks:D).
He gave me some hints and i get unbrick!!!

I'm not Responsible if you flash the wrong one!!!!
I'm not responsible if you brick your device. This is a guide. Flash at your own risk!
After that you will lose your warranty. This is your own risk!

Ok let's explain step by step:

1st step,
force qhsusb_bulk mode.
You can follow this topic on XDA: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/general/lg-g2-unbrickable-fix-real-hard-brick-t2904404

2nd step, flash the partitions,
You can follow this topic if you feel at ease on Linux: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2582142
Or use this if you prefer Windows: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/general/unbrick-lg-g2-qhsusbbulkqualcomm-9006-t2939627
In my case i used the second and it was worked.

3rd step, download the tot file and the correct dll to your phone model
Use this link http://downloads.codefi.re/autoprime/LG/LG_G2
or these links if you have a Korean version
F320S -> http://www.fshare.vn/file/T3SZR52W6T
F320K -> http://www.fshare.vn/file/TZRVMVMPFT
F320L V11c --> http://www.fshare.vn/file/TVR9DPAC7T
You can also to try the dll shared by @tyrogrok https://www.dropbox.com/s/e03h9rq581hf7c7/LGUP_8974_tyrogrok.dll?dl=0

4rd step, hexa edit the .tot file
Because of my mistakes i have flagged the phone with the F320L version. In .tot file for your phone version you have the reference of the model.
For example: Your version is D802 but for mistake you flash F320L.
You need download the D802 tot file and edit it with one Hex Editor.
If you are in Linux Bless is the better! In windows you have a lot of offers. Hex Editor XVI32 and HxD the Editor are the better's.
Open the tot file with the editor and use replace tool to change the vLG-D802... to vLG-F320L..
Care with the dot at the end of D802, you need replace it to not to change the item size.
Look at this:
D802: 44 38 30 32
F320L: 46 33 32 30 4c, we have one more hex code here
In tot you have something like this:
D802 -> 44 38 30 32 00
and you will need to replace for F320L -> 46 33 32 30 4c (this is the most important step, if you increase or decrease the file size you will get error in flashtools)

Save the edited item, but make sure you have a backup.

5th step, flash the phone with the correct files
Use your tot file hex edited and correct dll and follow this topic
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2687768
And now you must have the phone from the dead.

6th step, update your rom (OPTIONAL)
I don't know why, but after this steps i have the phone in KOREAN with KOREAN rom and with KOREAN APPS.
Don't Worry! Pick the original KDZ file and follow this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476

Thanks for the all Guides and Tips.
Special thanks to @iowabowtech you are a awesome guy.

how did u do to change the phone model of the tot file?

Hello everyone

I read your post and it seems quite helpful. However I have a few questions before I get on with it. I am still much of a noob with all of this.

I was previously stuck in fastboot mode, then I flashed laf image. But something I probably did wrong (maybe the wrong laf.img) made it worse. It is now stuck in the initiating download mode (5 blue dots).

My model is D802 32gb version. If you could guide me further on this matter I would be very thankful to you.
Atleast I know now that there is still hope for recovering my G2.
*Fingers crossed*

Unless you have a custom recovery still available or you can boot into the OS, you may be forced to short the capacitors on the motherboard per the 'lg g2 now unbrickable' thread at xda.

While you have the cover off, verify that you have a true D802 and not one of the many phones which contain d800/d801 motherboards instead. It would be a good idea to verify that regardless. There are several threads here that speak of that possibility and how to check.

I was afraid you'd say that :(((
But im in quite the same situation as the guy Oneya here, is it not? Maybe I can work something as he did?

His situation was much more forgiving. He flashed firmware which resulted in a wrong model error when trying to use lg flash tools. Your situation is that you have no way to interface the phone to repair it. The download mode with the blue dots is worthless, not the real download mode you need. So the option then is to force qhsusb_bulk mode by shorting the pins on the mobo. That's the last call saloon for a way to interface the phone but we are lucky we have it or you'd already be in an unrepairable state right now short of replacing the mobo.

Okay thanks for your replies man. I'll look into it.
Btw LG app recognizes my phone and current software.

LG Support Tool as recognized my phone too, but he made nothing, because i'm flashed the wrong model, and in flash tools have Flag F320S. I think your your only way out is force QHUSB_BULK.
Is not hard to do
