Root Invalid Beta Key

Trying to root using Revolutionary and run the .exe file and no matter how I type the key, copy/pasted basically every combo, it says invalid beta key. How did you guys get this to work?

Make sure your serial number is right or the key will be wrong. You can try and paste the key in notepad to make sure it is exactly right when you enter it. Make sure there are no extra spaces at the beginning or end.
 
aslo it is caes sensitive. and some people don't know that in Windows, that icon on the upper left of a DOS is a drop-down button that will let you get to the Edit... option that allows copy/paste between DOS and a window.
 
Just to make sure I am not confused, am I copying pasting the number/letter combo Revolutionary shows me in DOS or from something else?
 
Maybe I am supposed to enter that key into another website and it generates the beta key? That makes some sense.

correct the revolutionary website has the beta ket generator. you enter the hboot, serial number and a key will generate for you. copy that and enter it into the dos window.
 
Thanks! I figured it out. I feel stupid lol. I skipped that step.

Ok so now, it ran all the way until it tells me if i want to install clockwork. Typed Y. It says it downloaded but the flashing failed. And then a popup says revolutionary stopped working and is closing. I have S-Off but no clockwork.

What do I do now?

NICE!
skip to the switching recovery section. install amon ra recovery and flash the su file and you should be good to go.
 
Simple way to get it done is to run revolutionary and on the left side you should see the serial number, Mine didnt work from the battery then i realized that it was a refurbished phone but the same old battery.. so i came across another forum where this was mentioned... ugh worked like a charm! idk how late this will be since i have a White Evo and unrevoked keeps saying software too new.. *Sighs* just rooted mine and waiting for it to reboot
 
I cannot even get the beta key popup. I tried 3 different browsers. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Josh

It's been a while since I used revolutionary but, if I remember correctly, you need to have htc sync uninstalled and any other program that wants to auto connect with your phone.
Also perhaps have usb debugging box checked on phone?

HTC sync is not installed and I can communicate with my phone with no issues. It seems like the revolutionary.io website is having issues. I was wondering if anyone else had issues getting the website popup when clicking on the download.

Is your bootloader unlocked?

And what is your hboot version?

I already ran the temp root and my impression is all i need is the beta key to move forward. This is a screen shot.

Yes, i have full driver connectivity the previous screenshot proves driver communication with phone.

Can you test going to revolutionary.io and let me know if you get the popup? If so can you enter my serial # so I can get the beta key. I believe that's all I need to get to the next step.

welcome to the forums!!!!!!!!!!
i had to enter the beta key like 5-10 times before it worked. one thing that i tried that worked was to use notepad++. basically, copy the key that the generator creates. paste it into notepad++ and then use that to copy and paste it into the command window.

I've copied and pasted, manually typed, everything I know to do, probably closer to 100 times, nothing seems to work.
