iPhone 3GS to Droid X = bliss

The one thing that I definitely miss with my iPhone is that it is much easier for me to compose messages on that phone. The screen was extremely responsive when it came to text entry. The Droid X...not so much. I have heard from people that have the leaked Froyo that that problem is fixed with Froyo, so who knows.

That's funny. I find that the X is easier to tap out messages. The iphone has such a tiny screen that makes it hard to hit the correct keys. :D

The only problem Im having with text entry on the DX is that the space bar is a lot narrower than on the iPhone, and I keep hitting the period button instead of space. I reckon that won't matter once I get Swype or Blindtype, though.

Not paying attention one day, I typed an.entire.sentence.that.came.out.like.this.because.I.wasn't.looking.and.was.used.to.the.big.space.bar.

I didn't expect to like Swype as much as I do. I think it's fantastic. So impressed with the ease of use.

I came from a 3G myself and the only real thing I have to give to apple a bit more credit for is the software that is available. I've used programs like "The Weather Channel" app on both phones and the one for the X sucks in comparison. The GPS feature on the weather channel app can be as far as 2-3 miles off when it locates me. Google maps locates me perfectly but the android version of the weather channel or even one other weather app, Rainy Days, was way off on the GPS. I'll give apple credit in that they at least make sure the apps work as advertised because I never had an app not work on the iphone. Other stuff like the standard Facebook app is horrible. I know that the Weather Channel and Facebook write this stuff, but it would be nice to see them on par with the other software they've written for apple. Other than little stuff with software, the X kicks the iphone's butt!

1 of my buddies who owns a 3GS would totally bag on my phone, calling it an "oversized paper weight & a brick". I informed him that it is better than his Iphone and that it is actually lighter and uses it "oversized screen" & space more effieciently than the smaller iphone. He would continually disagree (note, my friend is extremely biased in favor of apple products and is very stubborn). 1 day while having a gaming session, I walked to the bathroom, leaving my phone on my bedside. I come back from the bathroom to see my biased friend toying with my Droid X, and he then admitted that the phone was "pretty legit". lol. I simply smiled and said "uhh huh!!" lol.
