Definitely agreed. Being a early adopter will always have its perks but will come with some baggage. An OTA and then afterwards, Froyo, would be awesome.
I don't think you're getting the point. You essentially just said what I did. There are so many factors involved in battery life that ratings are very ambiguous for the reasons you just claimed: a controlled environment. As I listed earlier, things such as heat and radio signal strength play roles, whereas these are typically not accounted for in a controlled environment. So, unless you plan on living in a perfectly temperate room, with full signal, and a constantly mid-range use never putting any stress on the CPU, then you can obtain the rating they claim. This is the reason why media outlets cannot comment on ratings, as inaccurate as they are, because they ARE true - to a certain extent. That extent is basically not living in a real world environment. Unfortunately for us, most are in that real world environment.
