Iphonemoviez.net just got shutdown. It lasted a good year but alas no more. A lot of people used this as an alternative to Netflix, so are there any alternatives available?

wow thats sad to hear, i just heard about the site last thursday and used it to watch some movies while at work.

Why not just pay for Netflix? You can just have the 1-disc unlimited and use Watch Instantly. That's what I do while also having any movie not there in physical format.

i have netflix as well but I cant stream that on my phone. thats the one thing I wish my droid could do.

While I'm sure many of you will miss the site I would like to remind everyone that it did contain pirated material and posting links to similar sites is against the rules of the forum.

Netflix for me... Never have to order movies though since I can just stream them from my X-Box. :D

If Netlfix would stream to my phone that would be a substitute but it wont so why mention it in this thread? I'm bummed. I watched lots of movies on that site.

They are rumored to be in the process of building an app for Android at the moment. They already have one for the upcoming Google TV.

Yep. Last August I think it was, there where job postings for Android Devs and Android Video Encoding Experts. Hopefully it doesn't take too long. I just ordered Netflix due to the new PS3 Streaming (no disk needed, added 1080p and 5.1/7.1 Dolby Surround). This would definitely be a benefit.

Here is a recent article, with links to the stories about the job postings...

Yeah I already took a breathe after holding it waiting for the NetFlix app.
I don't overly mind just Handbraking stuff onto my SDCard but a more mobile solution was/is/will be nicer

They only started working on it this summer. You don't want to give them dev time to get it out? Jeesh... Nobody believed the Slingbox app would ever hit either, but it is being enjoyed by many now...

A quick Google search will reveal a few alternatives that are just as good if not better than iphonemoviez.net ;)

Just watched Salt last night and the quality was grade A
