Is anyone else annoyed with all the constant updates

It seems like everytime I pick up my phone there is a notification telling me that there is an update for my apps. AGAIN. Happens Every....Single....Day.

Is there any way to stop notifications for app update until like the end of the week or to not tell me about any updates until there are 5-10 updates to do all at once that way I can do batch updates instead of 3 today, 1 tmrw, 2 the next day ect. This phone was cool and fun at first but now its becoming an annoyance.

Anyone else have problems with CONSTANT update after update?

Lol i have a lot of apps but it honestly doesnt bother me. Just hit "clear" in the notification area and update them when u feel like it. I usualy leave them until im bored unless its an update im excited about :)

P.s, its not the phones fault :)

Open Play app & go to Settings, uncheck the "Notify for updates to apps I've downloaded" option- this will turn off the notifications completely (I think you'll still get them for system apps tho). Maybe once a week (or whatever frequency you prefer), just open Play and go to "My Apps" to see any updates listed.

BTW, this is not unique to Android- my iPad does the same thing, it's just that the update notifications are done differently (little number net to the iTunes app store icon). App devs are always improving/fixing bugs in their apps that require updates...that's just the way it is!

If you open the play store, press menu, settings you can untick notifications.

Edit: double ninja'd

P.s. i wouldnt recommend using auto-update. a good few times ive updated without reading the "this device only", "latest version" reviews first and regretted it ;)

I have a feeling the bugs these updates fix are a lot more annoying to those affected than you are annoyed by being notified of an update ;)

You've got the group who complain bitterly that they never get updates, that Samsung has abandoned them and the sky is falling.

Then there are some who don't like all the updates...

Give me a beer, I'll be happy over on the chair facing the lake.

A classic example of this is the Starbucks app- like a fool, I had it set to auto-update a while back and the new version was so awful I pulled an older version from Titanium until they finally got their s**t together...I think they had monkeys doing their dev work for a while LOL!

And just what, may I politely inquire, is wrong with monkeys doing dev work?

Hmmm?

I get them all the time to but i just see it as making my S3 run smoother.

+1

Thats what updates are pushed out for :p

First time I've heard someone get annoyed we're actually getting updates more than a couple times a year :D

But if your like me, you'll let the update sit a couple days and read reviews before updating. Or even turn app update notification off altogether ;)

For boring (i call them "appliance" like a fridge) apps like Amazon Shopping i just hit Update without reading but usually with apps i use a lot or love i wait till theres some s3 reviews for it and/or ask in the App forum.
I considered ES File Explorer as an "appliance" though and hated the new version. To be fair, the update was good, it was just too different so i had to install an old backup :)

I honestly don't have an issue at all with update notifications for apps I'm allowing to run on my phone!

I even get a bit happy when it's for an app I use often, the thrill of seeing whats new ha! :D
