Root is it possible to use the z4 app to root?

Use SuperOneClick, it includes z4root, follow instructions in the rooting sticky

What ever you do don't click on the Root box in SuperOneClick,click on the shell root box, I'm pretty sure this led to my wierd semi bricked state. Follow the directions to the letter. Make sure you know how to do everything before you attempt to do it. Read, research,read some more,then follow the instructions in the Sticky to the letter!
