With an unlocked bootloader and custom recovery, yes. Otherwise its a crapshoot depending on experience, needs and willingness to roll the dice.

Definitely worth it for me. But as IBT says, I'd want a custom recovery more than I'd just want to root the ROM.

It's worth it if you want full control of your phone to make it run more efficiently. If you are the type to read, research, and not afraid, it's worth it. If you are impatient and don't want to read or research and not follow directions, I don't recommend it.
