Root issue with bootstrap?

First bootstrap doesn't deodex, it just takes you into recovery so you can instal a rom that will deodex.
Next make sure you have the right bootstrap for your phone, there is the dx and d2 I believe.
Make sure you are rooted as bootstrap still pops up the ok message even when its not rooted.
Use the one off the market, pay for it and download from there, if it doesn't install like any other problem you have another issue.

Sounds to me like the guy is frustrated and doesn't want to deal with it anymore :confused:
 
sorry it took so long to respond (again).
I am having a bit of trouble believing there is a difference in the programs between market and the direct d/l, but whatev. prob is: I don't have a bank account, so it is really difficult to do many things in life. I have cash, plenty of it, but since my (now ex) wife was so irresponsible with plastic, I have no choice but to go cash only on EVERYTHING.
That being said, I would be more than happy to pay Koushik for his work, even send him a fat cashier's check for more than is asked for in the market. I just have no bank account, and can't get one again for about three more years, due to b.s. bank rules.

my issue is this:
There was no mention that the direct download WILL fail and you have to d/l from market. THAT WAS NEVER SAID ANYWHERE, nor was it mentioned that I would have to download one app after another to remove/modify MY device.
I just want to unlock my "smart" device and make it the way I want it to be...Is that too much to ask from Motorola?
Apparently, they feel they have to protect us from ourselves because we are too stupid to figure out what we want.
 
yeah, credit cards are good for that....legal criminals and we sign up for it....
 
Issue has been resolved! Thanks to all those who helped, especially those who PM'd me!
I was about to throw this thing out the window, followed by myself (don't worry, I live on the ground floor...)
The app help via PM worked the first try, and I'm soooo happy i don't have to purchase yet another device that will make me crazy(er).
You should have seen the Blackberry days....I was doing tech help, then.
Thanks again for all who helped and put up with my ranting.
