ITT: Post your Captivate's battery life

battery of my first one, but second phone itself...

voice 35%
standby 27%
idle 20%
display 16%

2d 1h 26m since unplugged, 44% remaining
been sick the last few days so i haven't been using it much

need to root the damn thing too so i can ss that.

Is it just me or the phone takes a really long time to charge - or is it just because my phone is only a couple days old?

Last night took me around 3 hours for 50%.

I've only had my phone a few days now, and the battery life seems a little low compared to all the stats I see here.

While I was at work today (which means I maybe got about 50 texts in 8 hours) my battery depleted all the way down, and I was at 2% when I finally got home at around 10.5h unplugged.

Is my battery faulty, or am I just not giving it enough power cycles to really take off?

Need more info! :) Can't just say 'my battery only lasts a few hours', meanwhile you are using 100% brightness and have 50 real time widgets running..

My first impression is that your battery needs to be replaced. Have you done a complete power cycle (phone drains until it shuts off)? Then charge it for a good 6 hours..

I've gone through about 6-7 power cycles, maybe more, and it's lasting less than a day. I mean, I charged it from 10 AM - 5 PM, and it was down to 70 percent by 9 PM. I already have a thread on the usage, but I would like to know around when I'm going to "break-in" so that I can get the battery life I need. It's been exactly a week since I got the phone, but yeah, battery doesn't seem to be that strong. Nonetheless, I ordered two batteries+charger off Ebay, so I hope that really helps out.

Ok so i completely charge my phone to 100% last night and haven't touched it until just now and my battery is already at 74% with cell phone stand by being 67% why its draining but under cell stand by it says time without signal is only 1%! The battery has just being doing terrible as each day goes by. I turned wifi off and everything else to save battery and still my battery drops like no other! What's the point of this phone if your battery dies when you don't even use the phone! Is this happening to anyone else or just me? On top of all this the battery takes longer to charge than it lasts. Should i go with the iphone or Will this damn thing break in or am i wasting my time?

After looking more through this forum, my battery life has increased. I'm using Juice Defender now as well as a task killer. As of right now, I'm at 8h 3mins since it was unplugged.

34% display (Using a live wallpaper at the lowest brightness setting)
32% voice calls (a few 5-10 minute calls while driving in a low coverage area)
14% cell standby
9% phone idle
4% Android system
2% OS
2% Maps

I'm using it about as much as I was yesterday, save a few visits to this forum on my phone, and I'm at 65%. I still don't see me getting some of the numbers that a few people have posted, though.

I'm going to drain it 100% tonight and see if that helps it more.

Its that low because you used the gps for 15 min

Yeah.

Right now I'm trying to see how long I can go before the battery is dead. Currently at 4% and it will be 12 hours in 15 minutes.

I usually still have 50-60% remaining at the end of a 16 hour day. Includes some texting, an hour or two of Pandora or other music listening, checking emails, and some light web and market browsing.

1day 20h 6m 8s sec since unplugged (8% left):

Cell Standby: 23%
Phone Idle: 22%

I had to enable airplane mode for a few hours today at work because my battery was at 35% and I didn't know how long that would last.
Phone is a little over a two weeks old. Battery has really conditioned itself. Power cycled the battery twice only.

I posted this in another thread as well - Another tip to save battery - turn 'use background data' OFF overnight (I also turn off GPS and Wi-Fi for that matter) Phone was at 61% at 10:30pm, at 6:30am, phone was still at 61%!

I have about 2-3 bars of signal at my house, so I don't usually have any 'time without signal' when it comes to cell standby/idling

I used Juice Defender and ATK. I charged from 1 PM to 5 PM. I then removed it and by the time I went to sleep at 10, it was near 50something percent. I used JuiceDefender to turn off everything like Data, Wi-Fi, as well as put on airplane mode when I was sleeping. I woke at 5 AM up to 30 percent of battery left. And Juice Defender claims I'm getting x 1.84 the battery I normally get....yeah...not really working out here.

17h 55m since unplugged.

40% Display (bit of gaming but mostly browser, chat and messing around)
23% Standby
16% Idle
8% Calls
5% Google Maps
3% Android System
...

48% battery left.

-use a darker background, not a live background
Theres an app called Colors on the market, and what it does is it lets you pick a solid color to be your background. Its free, and its the easiest way ive found to put a solid black background on it.

15 hours, 24 seconds since unplugged
Display- 46%
Stand by- 26%
Idle- 17%
Android System- 4%
Wifi and Android OS both at 2%

Ive been using it most of the day, checking reddit and tweeting, and texting constantly. ive only dropped one segment of the battery so far.

I ended the day with 21 Hours unplugged and 40% battery life before plugging in.

As for live backgrounds, I use Aurora and it usually acounts for 2% of battery life. Not bad, really.

I would like to request again that people provide the times for their use, such as display, music, and games. Without this information it makes it really hard to compare how people are actually using their phone.

I could have 18 hour unplugged and 90% battery, but i could have had the display on for 3 minutes in that time. This is versus 18 hours unplugged with 50% off, but an hour of the display being on. Both phones are on for 18 hours but one was used much heavier than the other, thus the extra 40% drain.

So again, if everyone posted their times for use, it would make for better comparisons. If you dont know how to find the time, just go to battery use and tap on each item that you want to see the time for.

I actually don't really check the use time of each item. Just total time unplugged, battery left and the percentage taken by each item (which display usually has 40-50% for me).
