Root JellyBean - JELLYTIME for DHD/Inspire4g

I was amazed to see updated version for ARHD today .

But Mike's just updated apps and stuff. Nothing really new :(

Yup. Nothing worth upgrading to really. If you have any 6.3.3/7.03 install would have updated the apps and the other fixes seem to be more like build.prop edits (which you can edit yourself).

With 3 Sense 3.6 projects which are virtually abandoned, it would be nice if he could complete one of those instead.

TBH , I don't think anyone would stay with the DHD.

It's becoming more and more obvious , that eventually dev support will go to bigger and better devices.

I was hoping to have one "perfect" Sense 3.6 port, basically what HTC was supposed to deliver.

When I look at the ROM's still in development, Sabsa Prime I'd looking good.

When I get a newer device I probably won't root it right away. There is much less incentive to root a newer device which is still eligible for official updates.

And out of town till tomorrow so I will try it when I get back. But will definitely download it and try it. Great to see he has not forgotten his earlier project.

i'm going to flash it right now..so tomorrow or maybe tonight will wrote few words about it..

just flashed..manually select network..still not working..

Flashed r29, all working good. I'm basically happy with this now, tiny glitch with clock notifications, otherwise perfect. Quite happy for this to be my phone till end of contract now, and possibly further too... can't see any significant benefit to upgrading now.
r30 = V1.0?

Well, what is version 1.0 depends on the discretion of developer. Ideally, a version 1.0 should be bug free. In more practical terms a version 1.0 or a final release is one where all fixable bugs have been fixed, and features which do not work are removed.

Added: Basically, a V1 for example would be an R29 with the change log only showing bug fixes. While the ROM is being synced to the latest CM or adding new features, this could result in new bugs.

R29 looks like a good release. I have had no problems so far except the two issues on Chrome and sleep. The small camera glitches on the camera appears to be gone :) from user feedback. My screen turns green for a second after each picture, but it is no biggie

Posting this on Chrome with R29. Chrome works much better with the default Android keyboard. Still shows plenty of graphical glitches with Swiftkey. With either keyboard, I get a fair bit of keyboard lag.

Editing this on the stock browser, well the stock browser is much better. That would what I would want most in the in JellyTime at this point. The wakeh issue while the screen off would be the other. I don't know if either issue will be addressed. But will try this for a daily For a bit and see how it goes.

I just used the Jellybean wallpaper from my own gallery. I changed wallpaper, wanted to revert to the default... and could not find it

CHere is the look I opted for JellyTime R29. Uploading it for posterity.

Will try switching scheduler to SIO and see if that helps.

Been happy with it overall, but will probably have to wipe it. My battery life situation makes it not too feasible to continue. Battery drain seems much worse than earlier releases like R8 which gave me about 15-16 hours. Now it is looking more like 10-12 with my use.

i have same problem with awake when screen is off..but battery take 18-20h..

well..i found something unusual..always when my battery is lower than 40% and when want to take picture, my phone is shot down..
is it just for me or somebody else have that problem?

That usually indicates that the battery is getting old and might need replacement. I will try it with this ROM later just to double check of it if a JellyTime issue.

Might be too early to tell, but switching to the SIO scheduler has substantial reduced wake time while the screen is off.

Okay using SIO reduces the amount of time the phone remains awake while the screen is off. It does not seem to help battery life much. Will be wiping now. With this ROM I need to charge to frequently.

Actually, when I was on R8, the phone actually died on me while out. Nice ROM. Just a bit too heavy on the juice with how I use the phone.
