How to install

1. Copy the .zip file to the root of your SDCard.
2. Reboot into recovery.
3. Flash the .zip
4. Reboot.

How to return to stock

Want to go back to stock. Just flash the JelltyTime-RTS-vdd.zip below.​

I noticed that JellyTime undervolted at low speeds (245 MHz and 341 MHz). This was probably to reduce the effect of the long wake time while the screen is off.

For some reason, no unvervolting was made at the higher speeds. VOS2 it pretty much close to what every ROM for the DHD runs as a default today. These tweaks will save power when the phone is running a moderate or heavy task, but will not extend standby time.
 
Flashed on r23 (vos2), working fine so far. Will report back if any instability arises.

To add to what I wrote, the main thing about unvervolting is that it allows you to overclock. The main power drainer or our phone is screen up time, so I have this unproven theory that if the phone runs faster at a moderate increase in voltage, than you should save battery because you finish some tasks sooner and hence put the phone to sleep faster.

By way of example:

1024 MHz @1050 vdd versus 1200 MHz @1100 vdd.

17% faster for 4% more battery consumption. It is probably a nutty theory so don't post it outside these forums, and if you do, do not identify me as the source :rolleyes:

I strongly suspect you're right. There's an optimisation equation here, but I doubt any of us have the time to experiment with all the variables. I have 1.3ghz top and gallimaufrey governor. Seems to purr along beautifully and I have had no instability issues. I've never noticed a decrease in battery life anyway but hopefully your lower voltage settings may offset any decrease - possibly more than decrease it, who knows!

Just hoping hoping hoping r29 fixes my complete lack of GPS ... loving some of the additions in r28, but I need satnav. :(
 
It's logged as issue 223 - I'm guessing the guy who logged the issue is probably the one to speak to as he looks a lot more tech-savvy that me!

Issue 223 - jellytime - GpsLocationProvider seems to be dead - JellyBean on HTC Desire HD/Inspire 4g - Google Project Hosting

In short it's almost as if the device just doesn't have GPS. The settings menu lists GPS as a location service, but whether it's enabled or not no applications can get GPS location data. The GPS location icon doesn't show up in the task bar either. I've downloaded GPS test apps to check it and none of them were getting anything.

Tried twice, complete erase, no titanium backup. Went back to r23 and all is working fine. More than happy to flash again and get any data you need!
 
I don't know if this will work but it fixed broken GPS on Blackout ICS v.3.1.0. Some users, me included had GPS problems.

This might work if:

a) GPS icon shows up in the notification bar blinking,
b) but cannot lock on to satellites.

Faster GPS Fix
 
Would be happy to reflash and give it a go if you think it might help, but I never even had the GPS icon appear in the status bar, blinking or otherwise. Worth a go do you think?
 
The fix just replaces the gps.conf file. Basically, a invalid or wrong GPS file makes it impossible for the GPS to locate satellite. The fix flashes a region appropriate file.

On the other hand, if the problem is that the GPS does not start up, it wont fix that.

I did notice, some of the guys with "hardware" issues got it resolve by flashing an RUU and rooting again or flashing a Sense ROM than JT.

I would probably wait and see if JT R29 comes out now. R28 is 7 days old... so due for replacement. If R28 is the last, I would probably try flashing ARHD 6.3.3 than flashing R28.

Not sure I understand... you mean flash ARHD then flash r28? Or you mean better to just stick with ARHD or similar sense rom?

If flashing to ARHD first might help me run r28 I'll give it a shot. If you mean stick with a sense rom, I'd rather just stick to r23 I think.
 
Okay, I don't know how it works. But one continuos problem I have read in the XDA JellyTime thread is a small number of users, having a broken auto-rotate function.

One reported fix is return to stock and rooting again. No way I would try that. There are other ROM's.

At least one user reported that he fixed the problem flashing a Sense ROM than JellyTime after that.

It all sounds like Voodoo to me... But if it might work, ARHD 6.3.3 is pretty much a stock ROM. Might be worth flashing that than JT. But I don't understand why it should work. And remember that is auto rotate and not GPS. But still if it is an odd hardware issue.. it just takes a few minutes to flash a ROM... so there is little harm in trying.
 
what frequency for cpu is the best? JT allows to 2016MHz..

I like 1200 MHz. Faster is fine too, but most advise that you don't get much improved going over 1500 MHz.

I believe this frequency setting is known as the "hand warmer" feature.

Not all phones can handle the overclocks to the same levels.

If you want to try it again, use the VOS-2 script.

ok, i will..just try 1200..now screen went black and freeze..i'll try VOS-2.


it's working with VOS-2..now on 1401 :P

With vos-2 my phone is unstable, i try different frequency but always the same, now i'm on vos-1 and everything is fine..
