Root Just Installed Gummy Jar 2.5 and lost all data need help

Just Installed Gummy Jar 2.5 through the rom manager and i lost all my original apps that I had on stock rom like bootstrapper and even z4 root. Is there a way that I can get all my original apps back or do I have to manually load them all over again with a new rom? This is the first new rom I installed after rooting for the first time this morning using z4root. I did a back up on bootstrapper before I attempted this, but as I mentioned it's not listed in any of my apps. Any help would be much appreciated.

it looks like the market just recognized the ones that i purchased and not all the free ones i downloaded in the past. i do see the bootstrapper app that i purchased, and i always had the superuser in my apps. any thoughts on what i should do?

Did you backup your apps using an app like titanium backup before flashing the new ROM?

If not you'll probably end up having to re-install all you're apps manually, I have flashed quite a few ROMS over the past month or so and not once has the google cloud actually worked for re-syncing my apps, but thats quite possibly a user error.

I am definitely going to use titanium back up next time. Do I have to re root? I still have the superuser app but not the z4root app that I used to root. Also should I use bootstrapper to go back to an earlier version i had, so i can use titanium back up and then go back to gummy jar?

If you have a bootstrap backup of your setup with all of the apps loaded, you can try doing an advanced restore in bootstrap, and restoring only the /data partition. That will load all of your apps and user data.

Welcome to the 'club' ;).

Lost quite a bit of stuff including my phone contacts. Fortunately BackUp Assist got them back for me.
Had a few problems with Liberty and it's layout. Just wasn't for me I guess.

Binary that's a great idea and I really wish I read your post before I restored back to the earlier stock rom. I got all my apps/data back and I am going to use titanium backup first before I install another rom. For some reason Backup Assist only captures like 6 of my contacts and forgets about all the rest, so i backed it up with a different app (forgot the name). Thanks for helping out this noob you guys I really appreciate it!

I'd recommend not relying on Backup Assistant for your contacts.

Just use Google Contacts to manage them - log into your gmail account associated with the phone, and manage your contacts from there. That way they'll always automatically sync to your phone without having to do anything!
