Root [Kernel] Imoseyon LeanKernel 3.7.0

Running 3.7 since last night, with smartass V2.

Haven't calibrated battery yet, but seems good. We'll see if its as good as 3.5.8.

V2 is nice, can't realty tell much of a difference between it and IX as of yet. Imo's IX works so well, I'm thinking it might not make as much of difference as it would on another kernel.

It does seem to ramp up and down just as quickly, and maybe uses the additional slots a little more according to CPU spy.

Any want to try the newest?

Flashed it two hours ago and that's how long it took to go down from 100% to 91%. Setting #2 (Extreme OC/UV) SmartAssV2, of course. It's not looking good for me. I expect a 10% drop in 4hrs, not half of that. With the default Tiamet Kernel, I was -50 UV at 192/1036 and it dropped 10% in two hours on the second day of using that kernel. So, I'll give it a couple more days for the phone to get adjusted to it. I might have to use SetCPU to create a screen off profile for this kernel.

Do not make a screen off profile and use a smartass gov. The way it works is when the screen is off it will limit the highest clock speed to either the lowest slot or 1 slot above the lowest.

After 5hrs, down to 73%, with only 23minutes of screen time and barely touching 4G connectivity too. :( Using SmartAssV2. From the look of things, seems like the phone is spending a lot of time between the two lowest slot (44-50%)and the top slot (30%) and 20% in between.

So outlook for this isn't good at all. Either the 3.7 kernel doesn't work well with BlackSourc3, or it just doesn't work well at all.

And SetCPU does work really well, whenever I choose to limit the screen off profile to just the lowest clock speed and choose SmartAss the governor. Might try that tomorrow.

You can not compare results to a previous kernel or judge how a new kernel will truly respond until at least 3-4 days after flashing it. It needs time to rebuild cache and a full calibration wouldn't hurt either.

Fair enough. Though I haven't seen a custom kernel get better with time. I want my rooted experience to be far better than my stock experience, and I honestly didn't expect so much trial and tribulation.

Have you flashed the 3.7 kernel?

I have seen them get better after a few days yet I still like how 3.5.8 runs. I plan on trying this one out will likely flash it tonight.

Rooting and flashing roms is a trial and error process you may like some things and hate others, it isn't for everyone but if you are dedicated enough to find a rom you like and can run with for a while then you don't have to tinker. After you grow stale of that rom then search for another.

No, I haven't. His kernels used to be an auto flash whenever they were released because they were always improved. Lately with the past few releases they were nowhere near as good as .8 so I've stayed put

Are you still on DT's Rom (BlackSourc3 or other wise) or have you actually moved onto LiquidGB?

I flashed the latest today and I am trying SAV2 (like my sweet acronym?). I flashed it at about 2:30 PM, so I am going to have to crank the screen (leave it on full brightness for 30 minutes at at time) or something to get it to die before I go to bed so I can get a full discharge.

(I wonder if doing an artificially fast drain gives you a bad calibration.)
