Seems to me if you 2 are not trying to start s*** you would not have said anything at all =P
I did not notice any particular tone in your comments, myself...But I can be a tad dense =)
I'm a new Android user (total newbie) and I installed another keyboard but when I tap to text or add contacts, etc.. the original keyboard always comes up. Even when I clicked to select keypurr under languages and keyboard, it defaulted to the original. How do i over-ride this default? Thanks.

Just got home from work. Thanks for all the replies.
Yes the phone is rooted. Task killer is gone. Launcher pro is downloading as we speak.
Is juice something or another worth it for battery life?
And can anyone toss out a few keyboard suggestions, as long as it works with swipe, as I have fallen in love in 24 hours with it!!! Thanks again
I still use task killer...noone has really given me a good reason not to. And there is ALWAYS something running that does not need to be.

Enabling keyboards on Android is a two step process. Once you've selected it in your phone settings, long-press any text field (email, sms, notepad, whatever). Select "input method" from the list that pops up and choose Keypurr.
It's a bit annoying and confuses LOTS of new users.
Happy Typing!

I'm in the same boat as you as being a little disappointed with the speed and lagging. For the price and compared to my old phone it is totally worth the price. The only thing I can tell you is try and wait until version 2.2 and see how much that improves the speed. I hear a lot of great things about how much the OS is sped up.
outstanding. I too was about to say if u want to pay an arm and a leg and get stuck in contracts get an epic 4g or evo 4g both have a 1 gb processor with the overpriced tag and contract. Then wait a few then u will say it aint fast enough bc u wanted to prolly go on w.o.w. and facebook while trying to be on a phone call trying to update your twitter while checking myspace and maybe watching youtube i mean come on ppl. its a phone get a laptop for your downloading sprees and heavy gaming. For the price its a hell of a deal. Nothings ever fast enough for anyone i bet iphone 4 ppl have ******ed complaints about speed. Its a phone ppl come on not a super computer.

^^ What he said.
Laptop for heavy gaming and downloading though? Nah, I'll stick with the desktop PC I built custom. You can't upgrade the video card or drop in extra internal 2TB hard drives in a laptop!
