I was a bit excited for this phone. The EVO 4G LTE (One X) came out and really blew me away. It turned me into an Android fan, as I've had iPhones since the 3G. I got my GSII before the EVO came out, and was a little dismayed, but I've learned a lot about Android from it.
Anyway, one thing I've noticed with the GSIII is that it's laggy. Particularly when you hit the home button. It takes .5 seconds (or sometimes longer) to actually take you home. With 2GB of RAM, I thought for sure this thing would be snappier than the EVO (which is already very snappy). I've went to the developer options and disabled all the animations, and the lag didn't disappeared, it just seemed clunkier. I don't know if the animations have something to do with it, and Samsung built that time in for the animations, but it's rather (actually very) annoying, and I have trouble recommending the GSIII over the EVO. I love that the GSIII has a menu button, and all the little extras, but I'm not sold. Is there a setting I'm maybe missing?
This isn't just our Sprint demo devices, either. I thought maybe our demo app was making it lag, but my wife (who works for AT&T) brought home her seed device GSIII and it does the same thing.
