Latest i9100 modems

I installed the new Dragon 2.7 ROM last night and noticed it had a new baseband - XXLPW. Can't seem to locate it seperately but I know Shotgun will find it if we let him know it's out there!

Shopping is not high on the ironass to-do list... come to think of it... its not even on the list!

However, very occasionally, I am forced to go to a supermarket and today was one of those occasions. After risking life and limb in this totally alien world, understood by only women, I made my way to the car park and whilst I waited for both the car, and myself, to cool down, I decided to test out the new LPX modem that I'd installed at the weekend and see what the phone signal and GPS, on LPF firmware, were like.

The results speak for themselves...

The answers simple iT0mm0.

Get a few members of the British Royal Family to move in around you and the signal quality improves immensely. ;)

How quickly has Shotty abandoned us! :vroam:

Nothing for more than a month.

I'm currently on LPX modem which is behaving very well for me and has been used in a number of Samsung firmware releases for Europe.

I did notice that the latest DXLPB firmware for Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia had the DXLPA modem.

Now, I've tried DX modems in the past and was disappointed at their performance on my European network, I guess, because they are really geared for the regions mentioned. Last night I flashed this and my signal dropped noticeably and I could not get a signal at all in my pub, the Twilight Zone.

However, if you are in the regions it is designed for, or you just want to give it a go...

DXLPA modem

This modem was in the recent UHLPS Argentinian firmware release
I tried UHLPS but couldnt get JKay working, so I'm back on LPI, and as modems do not get restored in a CWM restore, I thought I'd keep it on for testing.

Maybe one for good old ironass to "test" down the "twilight zone" :D

UHLPG Modem CWM

Going by file dates, its 2 days newer than LPX
I just get a little dubious over firmware or modems that don't start with "X" :(
