Latest i9100 modems

Nelp4 lost service on my Orange handset. At best when I did a manual network search I got ASU : 1.

Oh dear Rudedawg!

Two tin cans and a piece of string would be better than that.

As you are in a modem flashing mood... albeit, reluctantly, why not give the latest, LQ5, modem a try, here, and see if that helps with your Orange signal.

Failing that... you could try this. ;)

I'm on 3 UK and the nelp 4 modem is the best I have had by a country mile. Getting 2 bars in places where I used to struggle for any. No noticeable extra battery drain either.

I've been trying NELP2, NELP3, NELP4 and LPX. They all don't seem to work so well for me. Anyone on T-Mobile and found a modem that works ok?

I'll give LQ5 a try later. If it works on Orange it probably should on T-Mobile too.

NELP2 was so bad I couldn't ring my office phone even though it showed 2 bars. NELP4 seems ok for calls (better than any I've tried so far) but internet is poor.

BTW is GPS functionality linked with modem, kernel or ROM?

my battery stats show cell standby at 21% but that's with 0% time without signal. Can anyone advise me on this, modem is xxlpx.

I think it's more of a misreading than actually using that amount of battery. The first couple of 4.0.4 modems on the gs3 had the same issue yet the latest one saves no battery but the cell standby is at 4%

Guys.

Anyone in Ireland using '3' as a provider, and if so what modem have you found to be the best.

I'm currently on LPS and i find it quite hit and miss.

Thanks for reading.

NELP 4 would certainly be worth a go as it is the latest modem that 3 uses. Failing that LQ5 seems to be getting great results for most people.
